Hobbyking EPP 3D New Releases

Suddenly (late August 2014) Hobbyking have 8 new great planes to add to their range (3 were added early August). Some of these are proven designs as they have been around for a few years, notably made by Future Models, Winners Models and Skywing Models.
For the price's they are asking, they are unbeatable fun. At the moment they are selling from Global only, but even when adding the postage costs are still great value. Note there are some threads already for some of these, i just wanted to show the influx of great and cheap Foamies that were scarce on HK, but suddenly we are spoilt for choice

I just ordered the Yak 54. I had the MX2 its same plane just different paint sceme. Fun plane and pretty durable. The only thing that is bad is I have to wait for the little man to row across Pacific ocean to give me my plane

Done some testing today with the Yak 54. It rolls a lot slower than full fus EPP models of the same size due to it's deep fus (and flat sides). This makes it not so good at rollers but most other maneuvers are good if not better. The deep 'profile' acts more stable, is slower and feels 'locked' in more while flying. This would be an unbeatable 3D trainer i feel.

Do you think this would be a better first 3d than the 109mm yak?

Thinking about picking one of these up for a night flyer. Is the wing on this hollow or solid? Thanks.

I had the 1090mm Yak and didn't like it. This Yak is everything you want in a 3D trainer. Light, durable, slow, axial, no flying flaws. It is easy to hover and KE. Rollers are a little difficult on it however due to the mass of nose area in front of the wing. I believe this is stopping the plane roll quickly and easily. I cut a chunk of the nose last night and next time out we will see if i am right . It will also be interesting to see if it stays slow and 'locked' in

Hi Dyno, yes perfect night flyer because of the reasons above. I gunna buy another one myself, for winter night lights.

The horizontal stabiliser and elevator are Depron sandwiched between layers of EPP.

The main wing is EPS wrapped in EPP.

The fuselage is EPS wrapped in EPP.

Do not soak regular thin CA into the threaded holes you make to mount the motor; it will eat the EPS behind the firewall.
