I have a hero 2 so the silvers offered the same res, etc. Waiting to afford the black so I can use the 2 as my down firing camera.

There is the flat plate lunar lander version that you could probably mount to the 450, as it basically has a flat top plate.
Do your landing gear sets bolt on the flamewheel 450 frames as is?

ha! that would cut seriously back on my camera budget! I do have a GP3BE en route, from what I hear most of the firmware issues it has are wifi related, something I'm not going to be utilizing a lot anyway. I've heard for just straight video they are pretty trouble free.

I'd like to get a hex for my next multi though, was thinking about the flamewheel 550 but still thinking about other options though.

Yes they can be bolted to the F450 as is, for the F550 there is an adapter.

Where would be the best place to buy what you have pictured above, with the ability to hook up the hero and stabilizer?

All of it. Like the frame you have above. You deal with full systems?

well i got a good hour and a half of flying with the hex today, the new legs and gimbal work really great. Glad i didn't try and rebuild my 'balsa special'

Have a great blooper of me flying and seeing the battery slide out the front (forgot to secure it), the gopro caught it, will keep it for the blooper reel

Time to prep the SSS and get her flight worthy for tomorrow

here's the blooper!

The frame in the photos with the legs is a DJI F450. Yes I carry them as well as various other frames and components.

I'd probably lean towards the F550 if your plan is to carry a gimbal and camera as it would give you a bit more overhead for payload.

Or even go with a larger custom quad like the following:

Really all depends on what your looking for and budget, etc.

You could always go with something like this:
http://flitelab.com/OnlineStore/Mult...SIXcopter.aspx

This is the custom build I did around that frame:

More pics here - https://picasaweb.google.com/1081737...rameSIXcopter#

Or you could go with the F550 base frame and do a custom build as well:

Biggest issue with multis is usually too many possible options, makes it hard to decide. Biggets issue with multis is usually too many possible options, makes it hard to decide.
