Aeroworks Electric Carbon Cub

Just getting started with this one- its gonna be quiet.

12s 4p , Hacker A-100, Schulze 300-400, etc...

first things first, What a nice ARF!!! the first one I dont have to throw all the hardware away and the wood and matierials is the best yet I have seen come out of a USA based company. Staff are extremely helpful and easy to deal with.
Overall- very impressed with the model and the company.Worth the money.

the first thing I like to do is to tighten up all the glue joints i can reach in critical areas. BVM epoxy or hysol is used. thick and thin CA in some areas but caution with CA. Thin can get behind the covering is used too much and cause a problem.

the landing gear mounts have alu supports and covers over the blind nuts to secure them. very nice!

What a gorgeous model! Can't wait to follow this one. Nothing better than building on Turkey day! I'm drawing on a new design myself before the family get here.

waiting on servos, leads, esc next.

I used 1/64 ply to make these scoops, side scoops will also help channel more air over the batteries. The esc will hang below the motor with its own air path and channels. the factory bottom panels that are already vented only need to be cut out to provide excellent exhausting of any hot air leaving the craft and excellent flow overall.

overkill is the recipe for reliable model. Not overweight however!

This Schulze should do the right job reliably as all my others do. Simple to set-up and bullet proof. Flick a few switches- done! My kind of simple!

chose to replace the faux-supports with some real ones...they will tied to the firewall and will help brace the wing saddle just a bit more. They will be through bolted up top- no wood screws.

yes, it is!

a little cockpit detail.. blue cloth over cardboard, black enamel paint to tidy it up a bit.

I like this material to cover wires , 15mm wide used here. heavy duty twisted servo wires used everywhere on the model and all leads get this treatment. Makes em a little tougher.
