Prop vibrating on Axi 2203/52

I just maidened my Claes Meijer Crazy Sukhoi with a Axi 2203/52 and APC slowfly 9x3.8. It was clearly evident the prop was vibarating especially when I did loops.
I then tested the motor with a different 9x3.8 and had it vibrated as well. I then put a 8x4 again from a different brand, and it ran perfectly.
Now I'm not sure what the problem is. Everything is brand new.
The two 9x3.8 props weigh 9g each and the 8x4 weighs 6g. I don't know if that is the problem or what. Also the 8x4 uses the smaller adaptor collet provided with the motor while the 9" props use the larger one.
Any help on this mystery would be massively appreciated.

Cheers

Find yourself a sensitive prop balancer and balance those suckers. GWS can be quite out of balance from new. Doesn't stop them being good props, however.

I tried heaps of different 9" props and they all vibrated but 8" did not. I would like to use 9". Does anyone know where to buy good, light 9" props.

I agree with balancing all props, but I believe he said it was the APC that was giving him problems.

I did balance my slowfly 9" props and they are fine but as soon as I run them on the motor they vibrate however a Direct drive 8x4 works great. Maybe I need a direct drive 9x5 from Hobbyking.

Regardless brands, all props need to check for balancing. I've experienced balancing issue on both JWS direct drive prop/SF also APC slow-fly.

Do you check o-ring tension (both side) after install it?

Are the hole fit nicely onto motor shaft?

What I am saying is I have balanced the props and they are still vibrating. I think a DD prop might be better than a SF for this setup. A DD 8x4 works fine so A DD 9x4 should also work.

Your problem is the prop saver, when you do a loop with the big prop that is balanced it will want to keep spinning vertical, but when you try to change the props velocity it is gyroscope on you and you will get vibration, all the big prop I run on prop savers do that. When you run a little prop it can change its velocity quickly which means it won't vibrate. You can always try more/thicker O"rings.

I tried different bands and everything. Look at the pics-the 9 x 3.8 props and the 8 x 4 DD prop- the 8" works and the 9" don't. plus the prop adaptor is part of the motor casing and can't be replaced. The 8" prop is lighter, thinner and more flexible than the others, so maybe thats the problem?

Had sort of the same problem 3 years ago with a piaget, it was vibrating and it sounded like a gasser :P My recomendation is to find a new prop saver, or make sure its on as tight as possible.

The prop saver is part of the motor casing.

From my point of view, both of your SF prop made from composite material which is heavier than plastic. Have you try JWS plastic SF prop?

I have ordered a 9 x 5 GWS SF prop will see if it runs smooth although I do wonder if it would be to big for my Axi 2203/52 setup.

I don't use those black O-rings. Many folks use the black O-rings and have no problems at all, but I would suggest trying something different to see if it fixes your problem.

Instead try cutting a piece of 3/8" latex tubing, and make your own. Cut them about 1/4" wide, and they work great. You can get the tubing at any local hardware store, such as Ace Hardware, etc.

I think this might fix your problem, or somehow your prop is not seating all the way down on the propsaver. There is no reason those GWS slowfly props shouldn't work, if you have them balanced.

Just be sure the prop is going all the way down over the propsaver. Sometimes they prop doesn't fully engage the saver, and it will allow it to wobble.

So I suppose you are running an insert in the back of the 8 x 4 HD prop, since the back of the hubs are oversized?
