Is 2300 kV motor better than 3000 kV motor? Would 5043 prop with 2300 kV motor will be better for thrust and speed compared to 5030 prop with 3000 kV motor? So..now with 2200 kV motor available, would it go well with 5043 prop?

I tried the 6030 prop with the stock motor yesterday and this morning. I have to say it is way better then the stock or 5030 prop.
These are the bench test thrust results:

Stock engine 2500kv on 2S
Standard prop with :
eflite 200mah 30C: 82gr
SLS 180mah 25C: 85gr
Eflite 300mah 35C: 97gr
Thunderpower 325mah 70C: 87gr

GWS prop 5030
eflite 200mah 30C: 87gr
SLS 180mah 25C: 90gr
Eflite 300mah 35C: 88gr
Thunderpower 325mah 70C: 88gr

GWS6030
eflite 200mah 30C: 110gr
SLS 180mah 25C: 115gr
Eflite 300mah 35C: 105gr
Thunderpower 325mah 70C: 111gr

Prop Eflite 5.25*3.5
eflite 200mah 30C: 53gr
SLS 180mah 25C: 54gr
Eflite 300mah 35C: n.a.
Thunderpower 325mah 70C: n.a.

So, the GWS6030 gives a thrust/weight ratio of max 1.47/1
The GWS5030 gives a thrust/weight ratio of max 1.15/1
The Eflite standard prop gives a thrust/weight ratio of max 1.24/1
And finally the Eflite 5.25*3.5 gives a thrust to weight ratio of max 0.69/1

I could not test the 2200kv motor because it uses a totally different prop adapter (included) witch require a hex key of 1mm to tighten. The smallest I have is 1.5mm. But as of the lower kv and therefore lower rpm, thrust even on GWS6030 should be less. However APC has a 7*3 prop with I ordered and will test this prop with the 2200kv motor. I also orderd the 3000kv version, arrival next Thursday and will again test all the above.
When I get my hex 1mm key I'll keep you all informed of the results with all the prop above and the 2200kv BL180 motor.

Philip.

Sounds like a 6030 is a good investment for those of us with the 2500kv motor (raises hand). Even if it's not as much as a boost as getting a better motor and prop, it's a LOT cheaper (relatively)!
