i assume your talking about the MXS? (because of the cowl?)
the EF MXS is loosely modeled after the 1:1 MXS
this Corvus 540 is loosely modeled after the real life Corvus 540. which gets half its traits from the MXS and half its traits from the Edge 540

cool! learned something new. but I was also looking at the fuse, tail, and the inside of the fuse. especially the balsa where the canopy rests.

This plane looks nice. I hope somebody will do a build thread and review of it. The low price tag of $180 has me a little weary of buying it without hearing how it flys.

does anyone know what size servo this frame uses? i cant seem to find that info anywhere.
does it use "mini" HS-225 size servos(like EF 60" series) or "standard" full size servos?

This thread appears dead. Thinking of getting one of these... maybe someone will pipe up and say something about it.

Corvus 540 70E

I ordered mine from Pro RC Canada - http://www.pro-rc.ca/

It will be here today!!!

Shipping was a bit more but at least I got one - no one else has them . . .

I'm hoping there will be build pics, equipment specs, and some flight data on this soon

Also hoping someone else will respond here - seems like this plane doesn't have too many owners or followers - but it looks like it could be a great flyer - we will see

I got mine a while back from here:
http://www.shop.skywardhobbies.com/s...eywords=corvus

Got it in, and pretty pleased with the kit quality. Construction is VERY similar to an Extreme Flight plane. Same motorbox techniques. Mine had metal landing gear rather than carbon, but that's about the only bad thing I can say about it.

I'm not sure how the goldwing/skyward hobbies one compares to the other ones out there, but mine is very short coupled. From the wing to the tail is shorter than most planes. It's incredibly pitch sensitive! I wound up moving my CG forward a bit more than usual. And toned my ailerons down about 8-10 degrees from normal too. I normally set most of my planes up for about 38 degrees or so of aileron on high rates. This plane only gets 30, and is still insanely responsive. Going just by specs the Goldwing one appears to be a few inches longer, and have 90 sq. in. more wing area than the other one. But it flies really nice. Very pleased with it's flight characteristics. And I love the red scheme one that I got too.

@ryan_m: So thats not the same Corvus discussed here. Still very interesting. But the Goldwing Corvus is diffrent in many ways to the Aeroplus Corvus. Its another plane.

I figured it was based on the specs. Would like to try the Aeroplus one. Especially in the larger 76" version...
