fvk kamelot.

i have pondered on which hotliner to get after my fvk bravo and have decided on the fvk kamelot. i know there has been lots of discussion on the kamelot and will get a lot of help from that and also brians build log on fvk website but i have started this thread as i still want to ask more questions. iam flying the bravo and a small quite fast 36inch wingspan model so hopefully that will stand me in good stead when it is time to fly the maiden with the kamelot. first thing i want to know is it possible to get a decent power set up and go over the top with the esc and use the throttle stick so on the maiden flight i can launch at a reasonable speed to get use to it with out frying the esc . when i then get used to the kamie i can slowly increase the speed,

It seems that your question is more about the power set up.

To put it the short way...find out how many cells, and what size will fit. You can always go with a lower cell count in the beginning, and increase the count to get more performance later.

Your question may be better addressed if you had a particular power system in mind.

Hope this helps some, Bill

kamelot arrived today much sooner than i expected. well packed no damage and looks really good. will have to put it on hold for a couple of weeks as i could not resist a used 3.7mt wingspan T61 faulke for sale so am going to stick a electric motor in this first before the kamelot and this gives me some more time to save for the power set up for the kamie.

at the moment i have the hyperion GS 3032-6 in mind foe the Kamelot with a 4s pack hopefully bringing the amps down but have been reading a few threads and a lot of guys dont reccomend a cheap outrunner in a hotliner. i know they are not as good as the hackers etc, but if you dont want f5b power what difference does it make if you can make the outrunner fit and bring the cost down. what are your thoughts for and against outrunners in a hotliner.

Hi, i had the FVK Kamelot and tried many configurations up to 10s with a 110hv from Castle. My favorite was the Neu 1512 1d 6.7 on 5s. You could start this on 3 or 4 s as needed. Nice plane. Good luck, E

not done any build yet but can post some pictures if you like. just waiting for my motor to arrive for my large scale T61 motor glider and then finish this of in the next week and then the Kamie is next. must admit this is the most i spent on a glider but the wings look immaculate. the canopy at the front is just to make it a little more accessible for mounting the motor, esc i suppose. motor mount allready installed and looks good. looking forward to flying the Kamelot but with a little apprehension.
