G-osd 3

Hi Guys!

I saw that Hobbyking has now a new version of the G-OSD.
It is called G-OSD 3, and it cost 40.39$

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ps_module.html

It seems as if they improved the GPS module from 5hz to 10hz and add support in current sensor and temperature sensor.

What are you saying, is it worth buying over the mini OSD in 24.21$ ?

I need it for a quad.

Any news, Aonavy?

Edit:

Just found these files on the Hobbyking website

GPS home bearing is included this time, but I'm looking forward to see how it works in a video or something.

I hooked up and couldnt get a GPS lock. When you connect a camera, battery source or something of the sort, an led lights up. when i connect the gps, nothing. Im thinking I got a DOA GPS unit or even maybe the OSD itself.

Ive opened a RMA ticket and have ordered another (3 day shipping) because i need one for an event im doing...here some pictures the setup if interested:

How does the bearing in the middle work? It's kind of an arrow, right?
Or how exactly does it display the bearing?

How long is "significant time"? Are we talking 5 minutes or 15?

Hmm, I've received my G-OSD 3. Mine started up surprisingly fast (11 sats after 5 mins.
I say 'surprisingly fast' because I've got an EZ Tiny telemetry and years ago I also had a RVOSD4, both of which us the same crappy GPS module and sometimes it meant sitting on the ground for up to 15mins waiting for enough sats to fly with!

Overall I can't fault it for $40 although it would be really good if they could have got it to reset the height when you set home (push the left button).
here is a quick video of the first (hurried) test.

HK Mini OSD Mk3 - test (6 min 26 sec)
