I guess I don't see the difference between how flaps are currently locked out and these mechanisms. Except that these will have more sliding friction and wear. And will add complexity.

Tony Fu at Sloperacer has the Norbert Habe RDH system ... a rotor instead of an arm, and the pushrod attaches to the rotor with a 2mm pin. You can have lockout with very short arms at one extreme, and rotate a large throw back towards the front, avoiding having a clevis stopped by the shaft of the standard arm. I was tempted but I am not going for such short arms.
