Sony NEX 5N Frames Per Second Video???

Did the searching guys, but cant figure it out.

I have the Sony NEX 5N
A few questions.

Using the camera exclusively for AP work and it performs very well.
Getting some request for some video but its proving confusing and difficult for me. Im not a video guy.

1. Difference between 1080P and 1080i?? Camera gives an option or can leave at Auto.. For AV what is best?

2. Right now shooting in 1080p at 29 frames per second. Film quality is not great. Can I up the frames per second? If so How?

Thanks for the help

You want to to set it to - 60p 28M (FS) in the movie mode it will show you the different settings the p stands for progressive and i is interlaced. 1080p will look better on large screens and on small screen the difference will be less between the two. Interlaced takes two columns odd and even and interlaces them together which mean you will not see all the frame all the time it mixes them as needed sometimes you cannot tell the difference between the two and other times you will. Hope this helps.

For the life of me I can find what you are talking about on the camera.... Where is Movie Mode? Ive been through the entire camera, I must be missing it.

Under Image Size: Then to Movie you have these options:
File Format: Set to MP4
Record Settings: Set to 1140 x 1080 12m
Image Size: Set to 14m
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Quality: FIne

Under Set Up:
HDMI: Set to 1080p

Cant find movie mode or how to change to 60p

??

You are in the MP4 you need to change that to AVCHD to get the high settings MP4 will not look good at all.

That should give you the best results. You may want to go to manual mode and manual focus as well if you the 16mm it will be soft I would suggest the 18-55 or a upgraded lens for better results.
