No, external encoder, or V8R7SP, if transmitter is one way V8 series.

getting DJT module to fit old apollo (jr) radio
Finally got the radio gear to go frysky but the fit is a no go.
See pics of original module (NET-J72P FM) and DJT module: 1. Original pin receptacles (sockets) are deeper in the case 2. New sockets have a much larger inside diameter so pins in radio do not contact sockets- even if depth were adjusted. Pins are .033" approx. I was hoping for a plug and play situation as my soldering skills and understanding of electronics are not that good. |

You can get thicker pins (the actual standard used in electronics) and replace the originals, this should fix everything.
The length shouldn't worry, inside Frsky module case the connector is open, a longer pin can pass through, and there is empty space above connector. You still need to solder

size of pins
Anyone know the size of the pins needed? If esc style bullets would work then i could slip them over the approx .8mm radio pins and then the module would be plugged in securely. Also is it correct to assume that the layout of the pins on my radio is standard so that plus minus and signal etc. are where they should be??
Module will still protrude from back of case. Goop! |

Yes, 0.8mm square will fit, or even less, like this: http://www.tme.eu/en/details/zl2038-...eaders/ninigi/
The layout is your greatest worry, not knowing this radio to be sure it is 100% JR. I would check other 2.4GHz migrations of same radio. |

Got one of the new hubless varios in to beta test. It is nice and small, and doesn't way much at all. Was hoping to take it out for a glider test, but not sure about the conditions today... I might go anyway.
