Multiplex Twinstar II Discontinued?

I'm having a hard time finding Twinstar replacement parts. Tower Hobbies says certain parts are discontinued or backordered. Are Twinstars out of production? Should I buy a few Twinstar kits in case I crash for parts?

I think they are out of production - the model came out quite a few years ago. On the plus side, a Google search found plenty of ARF's still available, and priced much lower than they used to be, despite inflation - I guess there isn't a big demand for the model any more and stores are closing them out.

These are very durable models, and it takes some severe crashing to damage them to the point where you need new parts. If you're a reasonably competent RC pilot, you may not need those spare parts.

When you look at the MPX homepage, the TwinStar II and all spare parts are still listed. Buying an extra small parts set or some spare motor mounts may be a good idea. According to "Murphy's Law" you will never need them then.

It's 2015 now and I can't find the complete engine mount for the Twinstar II. It appears most parts have been discontinued. Hope another company puts a similar plane into production

The MyFlyDream looks to be similar to it, except a little larger and in turn more stable. If you are still out for one it may be worth looking into. Good luck!!

My MTD and TW2 for size comparison.

Note:BP Hobbies has a good selection of TW2 parts but not the motor mounts...
