will this HK motor work with a t-28?

My motor died on my parkzone t-28. I have the factory plane and the standard ESC of 30A. Here is a motor I found. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...er_1320kv.html

Will it work with my ESC or will I need a new ESC? I am using 3 cell 11.1V 1800-2200 mAh lipos.

Thanks.

should work with your ESC. data posted there says:
********************
Test Data @ 11.1v:
8x4.3 - 18.2A - 1000g Thrust
9x5 - 25.2A - 1310g Thrust
********************
you may have to experiment (cautiously) with props past 9x5 in terms of how high in pitch and size you can go since that 25.2A is very close to your limit. a wattmeter will be needed.

I use this motor in my PZ T-28 with the stock E-flite 30 amp and 3s 2200 battery. A little more expensive than your choice, but it works great and fits the T-28 motor mount without modification. I also found the PZ 9.5x7.5 prop fits the shaft without modification and performance is super.

cool. will look forward to it.

i was curious since i saw a comment posted on the HK site:

"I have installed this motor on my Parkzone T-28 Trojan using a 10x7 prop (produces 320 Watts max). This has more power and a flight time of 7 min (down from 10 min on the stock motor which produced 218 Watts max). This has more power (hence a shorter flight time) and a bit heavier (so landings are a bit faster....just a little bit, not a lot so be prepared). A 11x7 prop is too big with the landing gear I have, but produces adaquate power with the 10x7 and a max draw of 31 amps."

the stock 9.5x7.5 should have a close amp draw to 10x7 the guy above was using. if over 30 then i recommend upgrading the ESC. but that depends on what your wattmeter says on your setup.

Checked 3 times, 280 watts with highest amp draw at 27.6. Since I don't push it, I'm probably ok with 30 amp esc. I may run WOT several times during flight but no more than 10 seconds or so.

thoughts?

oh yeah. you're good with that. even if you run wot throughout, you're fine since it's 27A.
