It's a repost but l dit not get a answer last time.
Is the Flyduino ATMega1280 can be used much longer? I saw that there is now 2.5.1 MegapiratenNG Light3 version for this board, does not it? When should I upgrade to ATMega 2560?

I know this problem. I have the same sometimes. Just wait a few secons till the flyduino is ready then the escs will be ready too.

The Light version that Sir Alex made was a one off and I would not expect it to be made available with every new release. If you can, get a 2560 based controller now and don't worry more about the 1280. Or stick with MutliWii which should still run fine on the 1280 based controllers.

is the board laid out the same w/ just the chip being different? or are there other revisions than just the chip?

Well, don't think that it will take that long to have it fixed: the microWii (based on the ATMEGA32U4, MPU-6050, HMC5883L, MS5611-01BA01)) will allow OCTO + Gimbal configuration with high speed/high resolution PWMs. There also a Spektrum Sat connector on the bottom of the PCB.
Test were still in progress but I think the board will be available soon in Paul's shop (www.flyduino.net).

Sorry we do our best, but its hard to keep up with all the parallel projects.
The Mega should be here next week, in a bigger batch, but i also wondered how fast the last batch was sold out, those where not so many... but it was fast.
Microwii and Nanowii are on track, all is organized and on the road, 2-3 Weeks and we have new stuff

Thanks for the images they helped a lot... I soldered everything together (yellow wire from GPS pad wired through antenna holes, not necessary but I figured it would keep the wire in place). Flyduino BOB looks super sweet.

After about 30 sec the blinking light remains solid (=fix). The WINGUI shows 9 satellites. Awesome...! Looks like the new software is about to get GPS support (dev20120528).

Hi everybody,

i want to buy the flyduino Mega board and flash it with the Arducopter soft and use Drotek 10DOF IMU with MPU6050 etc.
Can anybody out there tell me if that is possible ? Will this system behave more or less like the APM1 or APM2 ? I understood that the APM2 has more sensors and GPS, which i really dont need (at the moment).

I am using Arduino Mini with Multiwii at the moment but i am not very satisfied with stable and baro mode.

Any practical experience would be highly appreciated !
