Too many parties to attend over the holiday season, which now goes from Halloween through the end of January. Too many social obligations and the weather doesn't help. I have been lurking here to keep up with the progress on all the Oly 3 builds and other interesting airplanes, but not enough new news for me to report. Rog the Borg and I did not even have an unofficial meeting of our two person flying club, the Northern Arizona Radio Control Soarers, (N.A.R.C.S.)

If the Borg can navigate his way back through this mega series of winter storms coming our way, we will try to do some more work on the Woodchuck this weekend or early next week. The last storm is due Thursday/Friday and might drop 5 or 6 inches of rain down below where it dropping the equivalent amount of snow (5 feet!) {But we need the moisture, so no one is going to complain for at least a couple days}

Thanks for the wake up call my friends, I guess I had lost sight of how long I had been sleepwalking through the last couple of weeks in a daze of Seasonal Affective Disorder[Not enough sunlight to wake me up completely]

I spent several hours over the last week learning a new program for my computer.

You can play hundreds of the old pinball machines, a fun distraction if you are a fan. Johnny Mnemonic and Terminator 2 - Judgment Day are a blast. My more important half went to a girl's party the other night and I CRUSHED! Johnny Mnemonic while she was out. 13 billion!! Beat that! I was in the groove for an hour there.

OK, back to building and flying planes now. Happy New Decade all!

So you think you can build a woody ?

I'm going to post this photo in the Scale Group and my web site, but thought I should share this piece of work with the woody guys. This Baby Bowlus photo and others were sent to me by a Sky Bench customer in France.

Check out the man's talent . Imagine, this started as a laser cut short kit.

He aero tows this beauty.

Oh man! Now that is just too sweet Ray! All it needs is a scale pilot figure at the controls. I love the natural wood finish and would love to see a full series of shots on it. Any flight reports come in with the picture?

This is the second Bowlus build from my short kit that will be put up on the SCALE page of my web site that I consider were built by PROS. The one that is on my web now is equally as beautiful.

I watched the originator of the plan I used, Air Force Col. Bob Thacker, fly his in the SOAR NATS during the seventies. He put a show on working low level light lift one year that is probably inbedded in the minds forever of those that were lucky enough to be there.

I knew some of you would really like seeing the photo. Eventually, the pics will show up on my SCALE web page.

The natural wood is no doubt an eye catcher on the Bowlus. From the strut work to the upholstery on the seat back, it's a fine job. I can build one of these, five maybe six years tops .

Wylie and his ACME products are a hoot. I wonder how much of it actually fits our own Mr. Coyote's daily adventures .

Col. Thacker was just inducted into the AMA hall of fame a few weeks ago. he is quite the gentleman and modeler. I am proud to know him. He is still flying contests at 92 years young!!

Steve, your wish is my command, enjoy.

Launching from a winch is not a problem, it is smaller than an OLY lll, but the cool way to launch it from a winch is ROG ( rise off ground ). Back in the day, that is how many did it prior to the hand throw.
