I just found out about it tonight. Ken mentioned it when he sent me a requested issue of The Ampeer. I found the event info on the EFO site:

The Mid-America Electric Fun Fly
Sat and Sun, July 7 & 8, 2001
Northville twp. MI (west of Detroit)

I plan on going if i can.. but already agreed to help pour by bros driveway. Hmmm, which is more fun.. 100s of electric planes or 12 yards of concrete? Ahh well, maybe i can make it Sun.

I'm surprised more people haven;t mentioned this. Seems like one of the biggest E-Flys in the midwest. What a great chance to see all the planes discussed here flying.

I won't be able to leave Cincinnati until 4'ish, but I'll be there both days with as many planes as I can get there, allowing me to have a decent number of flights, no matter what happens to any individual plane!

I hope to squeeze in at least my Do 335, P-38 and Tiger Moth. I'm really excited as I had to miss last year.

Ted

Saturday's out, I have to pick up my daughter from camp and the wife has plans for me (a house is a great thing to put on top of a workshop but the maintenance is ...).

I hope to make it Sunday. I drive within a mile of the Midwest field every day on the way to work. I'll take what ever outdoor stuff is flyable - probably an X250, Flitter-B and Zagi. (Wonder if they'd allow an RC/RG, it does use electric ignition for the rocket motor? Nah.)

I'll be there Sunday with my nephews. Not flying anything, just coming to drool.

I'll be there Sunday, after attending a full-scale airshow in Sarnia on Saturday, where the weather forecast doesn't look to be all that bad. In fact, Saturday should not be a total washout in the Detroit area according to the latest weather updates. This will be my first all-electric meet, and I'm really excited about just looking around and seeing what's possible.

Mark,
Will you be bringing copies of your plan for the Sportwin? I'd like to save the postage from Ca if I order from S&E.

I would prefer you get them from the magazine, but I'll have a selection of plans with me that you can order from me.

When the mags publish these things, they like to make a little revenue from the sale of plans.S and E is a relative newcomer, and believe me, they need every dollar right now to stay floating , and to grow.

Stop by and visit me,remind me of who you are.Look for the Blue and white Sportwin!I'd love to talk to you guys.
