I assume its a Vee hull......................

If so and 45 mph is your goal, a Leopard 56110 should get you there, although 8s is a bit low voltage-wise. 10s with the 640kv and a largish prop would be good for that boat in that speed range. If you are set on 8s the 780kv would be best since you will need a good sized prop to move that honker. Best overall, but pricey choice, would be the Castle 2028.

Hello,

For that size of boat , think 10, 12S, not less. for motor, weight is not really a problem, a 700gtrs motor is enough, but 1 kg is acceptable. For batteries, you should think of mulricopter batteries, like Gens aces 16000, two 6s packs in serie can give you 45Mph for 15 minutes.
People here are racers, they will often recommends you, big motors, High C rate batteries, small props, but if you prefer long runtimes, efficiency, 45-50Mph range. You will find my advice good.

C'mon man. You can't recommend a motor by weight. That doesn't tell him anything.
What size & KV would YOU use on 10s or 12s & what size prop to go with it to give the45mph for 15minutes?

hello,

first , I need to know the empty weight of the hull without any hardware, if it is less than 4 kg, you can expect a 11 kg boat equiped. I am using HET-RC 800-73 / 400 Kv on a 50" hull with 12S 16000 and a K70 prop. This setup gives me 23 minutes runtime at 40 Mph. If you put a 76mm prop or a X472, it will do 45 Mph on a 60" boat for 15 minutes.
Enjoy:
E-Fighter by Brushman. (4 min 51 sec)

This hull is a 60" mono and can be used in electric: http://www.toys-port.hu/en/mono_sync_cross.html

I have to say that i do not put batteries for recption, no radio box, and always lo king for weight saving. This is my way of building boats, Lightest batteries, motor, esc, hardware . low CoG, big size prop.

I'm assuming the motor is this ducted fan unit? Since it is a smallish motor i like your idea of 400kv on12s, only way to wring "boat power" out of it really, however i dont recommend this small of a motor to the OP.

Product Information:

-Diameter : 50 mm
-Length : 72.7 mm
-Shaft Dia. : 8 mm
-Weight : 495 grams
-Internal resistance: 12.8
-No load current (lo): 1.9
-Max efficiency: 88%
-Poles : 8

yes and no, a good motor for turbine will have large bearings, a lot of vents, and is able to pump 100A continusly, this motor compares to the 1900ZR sold by Andrew Gilchrist a few years ago, Andrew has a good knowledge in motors,.
Poles number is very important also, for the same weight/Kv, a higher pole count will be more effcient.
My mono will use a Xnova outrunner 4030/350 , to increase the run time, I wiil use a K76 prop or Octura X472. Motor weight is 440 grs.

Scorpion 1, I understand why you are using "big" motors, because you have to keep the boat on water at high speed and for cornering, you have to do less than 10 laps, but many of us are not racing, or we have to race for 5 minutes, and big motors will not help.

Everything is conjecture until "boatboy900" bothers to answer dobydogs' questions in post #2.
We might even be dealing with a Cat, or a Hydro. Who knows?

C'mon Boatboy. Where are you?

Yes,
purely conjecture!
Actually, it is the HET in this Ocean spray MHZ, but I will replace it with the Xnova, the average amp draw will be 35A, easy for my powerjazz 120...
