You are in good company ohnow! Glad you found the thread
![]() I wish I has some insight into where you might find the plans, you might have to contact Horizon or Hangar 9 directly to find that information... Where are you flying these days? I fly my SD at Stone Mountain every so often, but also fly at Dunwoody Flying Club and the Pecan Patch. Lets get together sometime and burn some laps

Hello fellas,
I don't have a SD but I have WM Nemesis that I am converting to electric. I will be using a Hyperion 4035-500kv which is good for WOT 130A @ about 4500watts. I plan of using a 12 or 13 size prop possibly on 10s. Have any of you used this esc. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...hless_ESC.html I have used there non hv version on 6s and worked out perfect. Thanks Mike |

sd50 so slow
Hi. Great thread! I'm hoping u guys might be able to help me out. Here's the story ...i bought an sd 50 about a year ago and ive tryed every thing and still no speed. I'm missing something some where. looks to be in the 80 to 90 mph range, definitly not 100mph. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! The motor, props and spinner have been balanced there is no vibration at all. the current setup is
Motor eflight power 52 590kv phenix ice 100 amp esc battery 6cell Skylipo 40c 12x12 apc e prop flying wieght 7 lbs not sure how to post data log on here so here,s the readings battery 25.0 avg 23.9 amps 89.9 watts 2009 rpm 11090 |

I'm sure others will chime in, but just for kicks I ran your setup thru the castle creations flight calculator. On a fully charged batt, it predicted 71A, 10975 rpm, 1538W, and 125mph pitch speed. Seems like the rpm is spot on, but your current and power numbers are a lot higher than theirs. Wonder where the difference comes from...?
Seems like you ought to be hitting the high 90's low 100's with that prop and rpm, unless it's stalling when you test it on the ground, and slowing down a bit when it gets up to speed and 'bites' (am I thinking about that correctly?). J |

Thanks for the calc. data logging was done in flight and those are the peak numbers. at the end of the pass amps dropped to 79 and watts drop to 1879 and rpm peaks at the end of the pass at 11090. I,ve tried a ton of prop configs and have noticed any prop smaller than a 12" is way slower. I'm starting to wonder if its an air frame issue, aero ptoblem or somthing out of line. just not sure where to start. the plane just looks like it,s struggling to get thru the air but it flies like a dream
