On Steve's latest plan, it shows the tip of the tail (leading edge) about centre of the wing.
I don't want to notch the wing more than a 1/3 rd from the trailing edge for strength. as it is seated on the one piece fuz.
I gave the fin more body profile towards the front for weight and surface area.
The fin is now very thin...
I hope it will be even and level on the splitting board!
Sanding down the wing and filling for painting.
Couple more coats needed on the plug..
And we should be ready to go!

I was shocked to hear that holland kncked brazil out! I think I've enjoyed watching it more without England in it

I'll have to make do with this wing until I manage to replace the smoked compressor....
The wing's not that bad, and will come good!
The plug is my worry...
It's fitting well well and looks the part..
I'm just concerned with the potential of being tail heavy.
I think I must stretch the nose pod to allow me to use the battery weight to balance the plane up front.
Rather to long than add lead!!
Soooo.
I'm gonna cut the nose in half and...

Unless you're after a super light air machine I wouldnt worry to much about the tail weight... and remember that this is a light machine generally so strength is relative, you wont need a world of strength back there as impacts are light.

Unless you're ropey on the sticks or do something daffed (like side launch inverted ) it'll be fine.

Oi! My Sally looks the same both says up! I really should put some colour on it!

Looking good Johan, You're doing what i went through when i first built one. I like to mod most plans to suit my flying style (not including launching upside down!) The last one i built had a very light tail with only 50g cloth over depron with some carbon toes and it was petty damn tough. Inverted launch killed it though!

Yep, I'm taking along my head cam to record the momentous occasion of Pasty flying off Rhossili !

That's where the carbon comes in.
Once the mould is made, I want to try various layups to see how light and strong we can get her.....

Steve and I will be going for a slope fest/just camping in wales later on in the year. I'm sure a good few Cornish lads will be coming along for a slopetastic few days!

I like the light version of this plane. I've managed a 125g version that SAL's really well getting lift of the smallest roofs. The heavier version at 150g i have now after rebuilding the tail sloped brilliantly in 7MPH.

We really need to get a good thermal strategy worked out. How do you predict a thermal on a plateau of gorse?

Unfortunetly I couldnt bring my dogs , a real shame as they love it up here (staying on a big farm), they're having a holiday at grandmothers.

We are indeed flying the site from Rogers vids and I'm very much looking forward to it... lets hope the wind plays ball!

Talking of which... I better load up the car!

Those juvenile sea gulls can be really green! Had a few pop at swingers in their youth!

I caught one on a fishing rod, not by the hook but the silly things picked my float up and the line wrapped around his neck and the hook then caught the other end of the line lassoing him!

I dragged the bird out of the sky and then released him with no injury, except to his pride!
