If you want pics of certain areas that I didn't get just ask and I'll get them asap.

I still have to get a new air cleaner (didn't like the original) and a few other things...
Quite the amazing looking machine Pegasus! Are you going to make a video of it hovering I hope?

I have a digital cam and I'll put up a vid from it, but I'm not sure about the quality. We'll see when I get it done. Hopefully in the next few weeks.

Hi guys,

Wow-this photo guide could not have come at a better time!

If you Google Marauder Airboat etc, a few of my wanted adds may appear - wanting one of these beauties!
Well, I managed to find one in the US and had it shipped to me here in NZ. This was a few years ago and it was immediately stripped for restoration. Life got in the way and my memory as to how it went back together has clouded! Not that it's an overly complicated kit with hundreds of parts, but I'm sure you'll agree, it could pose a challenge!
Anyway, I'm just on a motivational kick and time is ok, so I've just had all the parts stripped of the old faded and stained powder coat and am currently giving the dents a bit of TLC before being coated in the original rich red and blue.

I've convinced my dear old mum to fabricate another skirt (err-for the craft!) as my one had several large holes

The engine feels strong but may need a bearing.

I may look at doing a thread with a few pic's if there's interest?

Sorry for hijacking your thread pegasus - but many thanks for the superb photos!

Hi to my old friend Tom (Kmot) who's been a friendly chap on my mission to own one of these crafts!

Cheers everyone

Glenn

Hi Glenn,

Every time there is a post about a Marauder, I think about you and wonder how you are getting along on your looooong running Marauder project. Nice to hear an update from you.

Pegasus, have you run yours yet?

Hi everyone, just popping on for a moment to say hi.
Life has taken a turn for the very busy type, but I hope to start getting back on here more.
Hi Glenno, glad you like the photos.

Hey there Kmot!
I got everything together and was ready to break in the engine but never got to it.
We ended up taking custody of my brother-in-law who is mentally handicapped (53 yr old with a 5 yr old mentality) who has kept up both busy.
I sure hope to break in that engine and get a few hours running time soon!

Hope to chat with y'all soon.
Don

Hi Don. Sounds like you will have your hands full for awhile.

You can probably sneak an hour in here and there for your own sanity.

I watched the maiden flight today, of a new, never run, Marauder that has been converted to a brushless electric motor!

It ran flawless. Congrat's to Brooklyn Mike for the excellent conversion.

Unfortunately, no one had a video camera today. We hopefully can get video of it next week. Stay tuned...

Hi Tom,

Nice! What sort of run times was this giving?

I'm getting closer to a maiden flight of mine too

Hi Glenn,

He ran it for around 15 minutes, I think.

Several more photos posted here:

I personally would like more power, but Mike said he never went to full throttle. So we have yet to see what she can really do.

Finding parts for a Whiteman Industries Marauder hovercraft?

Hahaha, good luck!!

Sorry!

The best you can hope for is to find a derelict for sale on eBay and then cannabalize it for parts.

This thing has been out of production for what, 20 years? And I don't think they had much of a call for spare parts even when they were in production.

I have one of these sitting in storage that has barely been run, Had radio problems and kinda lost interest because out in the desert there was nowhere to run it that I had access to. Are they actually worth anything?
