I am also impressed with the portable versions. However, I wish there were a way to connect my Tx to my tablet or phone. I get very mixed results with a touch screen. Just not the save as holding the real sticks of my Tx even if it is plugged into a computer.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to interface an external controller with a tablet?

thanks,

Connecting controller for the mobile version is not possible now, and is not on the priority list. I feel the convenience of using on screen controls is working well for the vast majority of the people. The rest can easily use the PC version if they really need a controller.

Just upgraded my iPad to iOS 8 (should have waited). My clear view sim will only open with the screen locked in "portrait" mode. It won't "flip" to landscape mode as I normally view it...just a head's up--Tom

I like the concept of the mobile platform but I personally have a hard time feeling the sticks on my thumbs through the glass plate. Might be my dry thumbs, but the virtual sticks don't go to where my thumbs are.

What would be awesome to go along with the mobile version would be a bluetooth interface to a normal transmitter and have it interface to the tablet or phone.

Can anyone explain how to get more advanced settings on this simulator? I believe I only have it set on easy mode but I fly regularly and beyond that point.

Can anyone tel me why there are 6 numbers under powercurvewatts in advanced model settings? I'm trying to tweak the throttle response a little. I have a model with 0.0 0.250 0.250 0.250 0.250 0.250 and the throttle takes a huge jump in the last few clicks of the throttle stick.

I am wondering about this myself or will we get a free version of the new software since we already paid for it.

Inquiring minds would love to know.

The answer is no. Absolute RC Simulator (if released) can use ClearView model files (it is compatible with ClearView models) but is different program than ClearView. It has different features, runs on different platforms and will have license terms for each individual platform.

I suspect that ClearVIew will still be the best deal for the Windows desktop platform. The Absolute RC is for all other platforms - phones, tablets, including all Windows 8 devices, as oppose to ClearView, which is and will be for Windows desktop style. People are not using Windows desktops anymore, so that is why ClearVIew will mostly remain in its current state as a desktop program. There could be more models for it, but the program will not change.

Wow sounds like a very objective comment

Anyways i bought absolute RC plane pack and indeed it seems nice (I am new to Rc sims thought so cannot compare with other sims).. I'll try others such as picasim and RF... There doesnt seem to be a hands down consensus on which sim is the best for ipad, what do you guys use?

PS3 gamepad to Mode 2 mod.....

I just recently modified a PS3 wired USB gamepad for use as a sim controller (Clearview) by going into it and desoldering the left joystick assembly, remove the bottom plate of gimbal assembly and remove the return spring so the stick does not return to center automatically. after reassembly, drill centered holes in joystick knobs and tap two screws into them so you can actually have some form of "sticks" instead of the flat knobs. Throttle function now works like it should with no spring tension. Rudder function will not return to center either, but in my opinion, will help force-learn my throttle/rudder reaction. Joystick reversing and buttons are assignable as needed. So far, it's working great..... at least until I can get a USB adapter for my DX4e.
