You can, but it will not finish off the charge properly as the CV stage will terminate prematurely. What this means is the cells will not be fully charged, which is arguably not nessessarily a bad thing for cell life.

What kind of adapter you are taking about?

I have ordered those Hyperion adapters.
So I can throw them in a corner? (useless?).

But the I will charge my ordered Hyperion 1S lipo's at 500 mAh.
So that will be a solution? To eliminate this problem?

I am really confused now, I can select 0,1A as charge current with CP 10S.

and a FMA CP10 pigtail also shown in that post. Connect (solder) the red lead from the pigtail to the red lead on the Hyperion adapter and the black lead from the FMA pigtail to the Hyperion black lead.

Now you can charge up to 6 1S Lipolys at a time. If you charge 6ea. 160 mAh then that is the same as charging a single 960 mAh one so a 1A charge rate would be 1C.


Just make sure that all of the LiPolys have been discharged (flown) the same amout so the voltages are close. A couple of tenths of a volt ( 0.02)difference is fine but do not place discharged and fully charged ones in the adapter at the same time.

But it doesn't work on my CP 10S when I just use the 4mm banana leads connected to charger channels?
Because it's only 1S battery, so no balancer leads are needed.

First off Cell Pro 10 will not charge any LiPoly without using the balancing leads.

Secondly this is the new Cell Pro 10 XP thread and this charger requires both the main charging leads and the balancing leads be connected to charge LiPolys.

The directions I provided will work with this charger.

If you have the older Cell Pro 10 charger then my directions will work with it also.

If you have the older Cell Pro 10 then you can use the FMA pigtail solder them to the Hyperion adapter red and black leads connect the FMA pigtail to the CP10 balancing port ,install the Plug Blocker ,cover the male bullets on the Hyperion adapter to prevent shorts and charge thru the balancing leads only.

If you use the CCS and go to Option Start Settings and Check Enable Quick Start and Suppress Use bananas it is only two presses of the Start Button.

Aaha I didn't know that, because I don't use the CCS often.

Absolutely nothing. He's saying that for him to be happy with a charger he needs to be able to use a pack or series of packs that is nearly equal to the maximum cell count supported by the charger, which then allows utilization of as much of the available power as possible.

If the 10XP were to support 12S then he'd be able to combine 3S, 6S, and 12S packs in ways to use the full 12S support. But since it is limited to 10S he feels a 6S pack is too much under-utilization (60%) so you should get the PL8 since then you'd be using 6S of 8S or 75% utilization of available power.

I don't agree with that assessment, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. The same logic applied to maximum current capabilities would say that if you have smaller capacity packs you should get the 10XP since charging at 15A on the PL8 would be a waste of its potential.
