Do you want a truly permanent bond? Since you mention epoxy I am assuming so? Don't use an epoxy adhesive if you ever want to remove the heatsink.

You might (and I say might) be able to pry loose thermal tape, but don't count on it:

Thanks for info guys. I am working on some different ideas for my Master c/ps.
One problem with stock motors is amount of heat producded during flights.
I made a heat coils for my Genius c/p from soft al. rods and helped big time. Prolonged flight and motor ran much cooler. Master would need special design to work and adhesive would be what is needed.

The particular heat sink I purchased for my main motor was easily (and carefully) bent to a smaller diameter so it just "clipped" snugly onto the motor. I haven't even needed to use heat sink compound, though I should. On the other hand, I will be converting to brushless in the near future, so it may be a moot point.

i have not found any of this stuff yet but soon...I hope. Using heat sink etc does indeed help motors. I made some coils for both my Genius c/p;s. right away added extra flight time and much cooler runs on motors. This gives more band for buck !1 like to fly and get as much out of my birds.
