Himodel 150A and HK YEP 150A ESC's

Are these two ESC's the same? They sure look like it.

Has anybody had experience with either of these? Are they ok for F5D use?
Just curious on your thoughts, I know Voo Doo used the Himodel 150 in his Pyro Swist.

thers been discussion about these before, my 100 and 150a YEp esc do run nice, no problems at all----- cant say if the Himodel and YEP are the same..

did you read the other thread? the one comparing YEP anf YGE esc,,, some info there also..

I can say, both the 100 and my two 150 YEP does handle the amps... do they hold up for years ?? dont know, time will tell..

if voodoos himodel 150a esc did run fine on 5s and 6s? in his 230+ mph swist, Im sure it will be ok in any other plane that is less demanding,,, the question is: is the himodel and yep same?

Hi sebbe, you've had good use with the 150? Is there a english manual programming sheet any place? the closest I could find is this but don't know how to translate it.http://www.yge.de/pdf/RC-Setup.pdf

hi, you can download it from HK, go to the esc, and klick on the tab: files, there it is, BUT i is not easy to understand how to program it by stick, "%"%"%""&&"&%

you should of bought the program card..

The esc comes in helimode, so you have to change that first, I will tell you how to do it, just PM me, even if the manual states how, its not easy to understand, hehe..

From what Ive read, most seem to be happy with this 100 and 150A YEP, you will always find one ore two that are not, but that goes for castle Creation also

YES, I have tried it up to 150Amp draw, static, for a few times, both my 150A esc:s, runs nice,, dont heat up so much quick, not more then my other Plush esc 60, and 80A anyway..

I cant find any downsides to the esc yet, it runs smooth, start is ok, pretty soft, have not tried the break yet, but for my setups I dont need it anyway..as I said, I dont know how long it will hold up, but Im sure by looking at the layup/electronics/solder it looks as good or better then the Plush series, and I have Plush esc:s that have been flawless for many many years now, not one has given up out of 40-50 pieces,, that GOOD..

Also I dont know how it deals with 170 or more Amps, as I have not tried, but Im sure it will handle overload as good as any other esc for short times, but cant tell... maybee you can try to get some +200A burstes

Hi sebbe, Yes, the first thing would be to change the soft start heli mode. It seems the pwm is 8hz and timing is 18* set at the factory, HK didn't have the card in stock so will PM you when needed, thanks.
Since this is a high performance thread, what I am building is a 70mm speed jet. It looks like a zagi with a nacelle only way cooler. I used an old 1112-2d I re-shafted and re-bearinged, a 12 blade CS fan and 'Oh My' what power this thing needs to turn enough to produce 3000 watts and a 220mph efflux. I tested on a cc160 with the fan in modified velocity nacelle, check the graph please, do you think the esc will survive if mounted in good air?(very quiet also!)

savneo , measures of the 150A is: 68mm x 32.2mm x 18.69mm(thickest part) , weight: 94 gram.

my 100A YEp is inside my Shoestring cant measure that, but I think it has smae measures but is thinner..

ApexAero , I like the idea of very fast 70mm edf. nice,, pictures ??

They say the 150A YEP can take 170A in burstes, but I guees it all depends on cooling. 150A for burstes like 10-20 seconds, then half throttle a while then 10 seconds and so on,, the esc can take 150Amps, tested... gets warm but not hot,,, guess you have to test if it can take more, Im sure 170A is no problem if good cooling, but cant promise it will survive all day long at those Amps....

Span is 36.5in/ 950mm 350 sq in/2250sq cm
Esc, hope to mount it on the low pressure side of the hump in front of the fan, surface mounted like my swept forward wing, the wire tail exit to the fan will be good for battery heat exit also,

edit: forgot to ask if you're familiar with a zagi style wing, I did the CG at 15% mac. What do you think?
