He is thanking you steve and telling off jamesrini for giving him grief about the cortex. I imagine they are friends since they are both in the same state.

Hi All!
Just got the yellow version of this bird and funny to say, it was nother mysterious "in stock" moment with 3dhs. I wanted this bird so bad for months now, but always ended up seeing out of stock.....
Happy enough to order, confused enough to not know what to get in terms of power plant.
Electric is surely the only way i would want to go as it has to be readily available and simple enough to leave the office and have two flights then split 15 mins later.
I have and abundance of 6s batteries from all brands and would like to stick to 6s for the sake of simplicity and ensuring i dont build a rocket ship and maybe better build a good intermediate ship with enough pull out power from a not so low hover.

Anyone, please share your thoughts on what i have seen thaty may be the best 6s option on this blog.

1. Motrofly 43-25 380kv (19x10) @6s
2.Motrofly 43-25 425kv (18x10) @6s
3.Motrofly 53-20
4.Hacker A60-6xs (20x10)@6s
5.Hacker A50-12L(19x10)@6s

In all cases, i will be using a 130 amp CC edge lite and a CC BEC PRO, accompanied by Hitec 7985's(yet to explore the savox counterpart) all around

Thanks in advance!

I would look for a different ESC as far as I know there is still no fix for the Edge ESCs and 28 pole motors. Also there are users on RCG that are seeing less power output when using Motrolfly motors.

You could look at ZTW Gecko ESCs they work well with the Motrolfly motors.

The Motrolfly 4325 380kv is my number one choice for 6S of the motors you listed. Followed by the Hacker A60-6SX, then the Hacker A50-12L (on the 12L I still run a 20x8 Xoar prop).

In my planes the Motrolfly 4325-380kv has the most thrust on 6s, then the A60-6SX, last place is the A50-12L. Really unless you find a A50-12L for dirt cheap, I would go with the A60-6SX or Motrolfly 4325-380kv.

CC Bec Pro is good I run it on a few of my planes and large helis.

Hitec 7985 are great also, but pricey. The Savox SC1258TG is only 6oz/in less in torque but way faster at .08 vs .13 for the 7985. They cost a little less and if buying used can be found for $50 or less. Biggest plus for the SC1258TG is you can find them rebranded as Align DS610 servos, these are easy to find for less as they come in Align Trex kits and a lot of guys swap them out for different servos. Just they are usually sold in sets of three, you can search around for a single one, or just buy a SC1258TG and be done with it.

I went 4330 380 in mine. I run either a 20x10 or 21x10 on 6s I found the 19x10apc was a little weak. My batts aren't the best and it doesn't get that hot up here so I hasn't been an issue. I run the 4325-380 in my velox with a 20-10 again gt kens recommendations. He said the 4330 is better for the 20" props.
If you go search you tube I have some videos of my extra on those props under user "69455400" or just the plane name and motor

Ok. Ok.
This is getting tense for me... now my options are with motrolfly on 6s
4330 380kv @20x10
4330 400kv @19x10
5320 ???kv @19x10

The 74" edge blog says 400kv for more punch in speed envelope
And the 71" slick blog says 5320 for similar performance as the 400kv but with extra assurance during hotter days.

Analytics are getting narrower but I'm sure ready to pull the trigger on one of them.

Cheers

no need to cross post the same question across so many different threads.

Would you happen to know the standoff size for 4330 if used on this plane? About to order but thought it be best to get the standoff in the order.
Thnx

I just made a set for my 74. I think they will be the same for the 72. 3.600" gives around .100" spinner gap. You could probably go 3 9/16" (3.5625")

I fly a 3DHS 74" Edge with a Hacker AS60-6XS with good results. You might consider using a separate 2s/3s 2200-3000mah lipo to power your BEC. When you invest this much in a plane it's nice to not be relying on the motor battery for controls, plus BEC's work better with less input voltage so less chance of failure. Flight packs of this size will last 6-8 flights. That's just my two cents. Good luck with your build.
