Slope soaring sites-victoria-Australia

I am looking for new sites here in victoria, australia for slope soaring.I have a list for about 12 sites but I havent been able to travel to them all yet.If anyone has a list with the site and wind direction required, please reply.I have a varms club listing but they do not have the wind direction listed for each site-an important issue. Also tell me about landing-on top/etc.Cheers-damian

G,Damian,

I too am very interested to find out about slope sites around Victoria. I have a very early VARMS list of sites (with wind directions) but it is not up to date and I know for sure that some of the sites are no longer available.
If you are willing to share your list I would be very interested.

Andrew

Hey guys, ask in the "Slope" section of this forum, that's where you'll get a lot more answers to this than in "Scale"..

Since posting this thread, many months ago,l have visited hangliding/paragliding websites instead.Just type in hangliding on google, and l found these to be a good source of info. Some sites are 4 wheel drive access only, and minimal landing zones, but there are suitable sites for rc gliders, and with wind diirection/launch/landing, listed for all sites used by hangliders/paragliders. regards damo

The best website is www.vhpa.org.au. is the victorian hangliding and paragliding association website. It also has Mount Hollowback, listed on it.Another good flying site that l have been unable to visit yet is Mount Major, outside of Shepparton. Its summit is 1230 feet high, and can be flown in any wind direction apparently.

I have recently visited two sites, that are not listed on the vhpa siteguide,or varms either. Both have proved to be good sites, and are on private property.l know the owners personally. If it was not for the intimidation dished out by other members of rc groups, towards me,l would of gladly invited them to fly there, with the owners consent. The sites are also not club sites-the owners do not want groups of people on their land.regards damo
