no, I didn't.
I called them in the past concerning the UMX Beast problems with servo failure here in Germany but in my opinion their Germany-support wasn't good as the US was.
Therefore I called my online seller shop and I want to replace the Stratos there.
We will see...I come back with news as soon as possible...

UK customers support is equally rubbish.

lol, disaster here, just flew the stratos (wonderful as always) then tried to fly my re-built PZ spitfire that i had fixed 2 years ago.

the damn thing is gone haha, i had virtually no control over it and it was out of sight and over some trees 600 ft away in under 30 seconds, it crashed on a football field (thankfully nobody was there).

my son and i laughed at lot about it, i dont even feel sad (was crushed the first time).

i reckon after my first crash, my rebuild must have been terrible, the aircraft showed no will to climb at full throttle and aileron input was virtually ignored.

its wings are ok, but the prop, spinner, cowl and probably gearbox are a right off, i doubt i'll bother trying to repair it again.

oh well, maybe i'll buy a new RC plane in a year or two, i think i'll stick with my stratos, its much more relaxing and enjoyable experience for me anyway.

I've been pondering powered gliders, Jack... such as the Radian.

I recognize there are some different flying dynamics involved but they seem to be a super relaxed type of aircraft, ones with their own set of challenges.

Still looking and thinking.

Gliders are one of the most beautiful man made craft beside tall ship, I haven't skilled enough to fly a radian but it was such a joy to watch them fly.

The Radian is really easy and relaxing to fly. You can't go wrong with it as long as you learn the proper lauch technique.

I have also read/heard that handling stalls are different than other, powered craft.

But some of the YouTube vids I'm seeing of various powered gliders have piqued my interest.

Stalling a glider like the radian involves the nose dropping...and that's it.

At the other extreme, a hotlnner like the mpx blizzard will be a bit more challenging.

mpx blizzard... that's not one I'm familiar with.

I am friendly, it's just posting from my iphone down the pub has its limitations.

OTOH, you can copy and paste mpx blizzard into google and get all the info you seek.

Meanwhile, back on the Stratos, high winds here in Texas today (again). Prediction is more of the same tomorrow but I'll rise early with the hope they'll be light so I can try to do some more flying.

Monday's outlook is for 5 mph breezes but of course I'll be working and the school will be in session - maybe next weekend..
