I've been working on this motorglider -- I call it Plane B since I wasn't successfully able to fly my first motorglider version of the Marske plank, now demised. I may build another one of those again.
Anyway, this one has been a definite learning experience, too. Span is 36", weight is 126 grams, wing area is I think about 180 sq in. I'm still working on CG, trim, rates, thrust line, etc. Spent a fair amount of time just throwing and glide testing, and a few fuselage moves to accomodate CG. But managed a short first powered flight this afternoon, several times around the patch at low altitude. Looking forward to tomorrows testing if the wind holds off.

Very considerate slebetman -- yes, please try it out and let me know how it works for you.
ps the elevators are spilt, because of the dihedral, so I ran separate servos to treat them as elevons (or V-tail -- whatever) But the real rudders were intended to be the primary turning control.
I've lately put rudder on right stick, and mixed in the elevon @ 25 %. I'm thinking that the less mixed in the better, but am slowly working my way less. Elevon used to be on right stick with rudder mixed in 100%.
CG wants to be well forward of the 25% area centroid -- which is about 1" back from the root at wing center.
The reflexed "flaps" outboard of the rudders were intended to be temporary and are fixed.
Many aspects of the present configuration are designed to cope with the difference in control authority and pitch between powered and gliding flight while using a tractor motor. A pusher would have been smarter but harder to house.

This thread is getting big........
Here is a version of the Wisel with a PW51 airfoil. A very very light plane. Kinda maneuverable. Not my plane, but fun to watch.
