Beautiful. We have a plastic canoe from Academy Sports.
We use it to recover the sail boats and air boats. Gets
a bit of rough treatment.

Brad spent 19 months on the sail boat.

In only about 14 hours of sanding, coffee drinking, cigar smoking.

The big trick was turning the 13" prop in to a 10" with out scratching
the varnish.

BTW, the air frame weighs 13oz, all the stuff weighs 11oz. That includes
the battery, motor, servos, prop, rec, hardware,

So our target weight of two pounds is going to be close.

OOOOOO AHHHHHHH, Nice combo! True classic colors. It's funny how "plain" colors can look so nice when in the right combination.

"She" will be a "looker" when complete.

Hi Kimber
Look at what I found in the bottom of my 'prop drawer'! It dates back to when my favourite knockaround sports models ran to Astro 035G cobalt motors and ten NiMh cells.

It's been in there for maybe 8 to 10 years, so it's a little pale and what were super-sharp blade TEs are a little raggy after sharing space with APCE props for that long.

Basically, the hub's smoothed into the blades. The TEs sharpened up to match and be sharp, the LEs rounded to match, both then smoothed into the hub. Tips rounded off, checked for blade length and possibly a little blade sectional thinning. All the varnish was sanded off, the entire prop was smoothed out to a nerd-like degree, balanced, re-varnished and balanced again. The red tips were to add a little class to matters.

Before the evolution of the APCE prop, I did this to Top FLite wood props all the way up to 16" - it was about the only prop I flew on the majority of my electrics back then.

Pulling an APCE out the packet, fitting a hub spacer to match the motor's shaft diameter and balancing it with a short length of office sticky tape is nowhere near as romantic as the week or two spent on the above wood props, but the efficiency makes it all tolerable

The 10/6 puts the motor at the limit, we ordered a 10/5 Xora.

The LED lights give it a funny color....

There was a hold up on this one, we ordered some balsa filler and
Brad is having some problems with the covering, The tan is a
bear. He is redoing part of the tail.
We ordered a prop, Tower sent the wrong one. We got two 11/5
and no 10/5. It was billed right, packed wrong. The 11/5 is for
my Eagle II

Pictures later.

At the risk of speaking for someone else, your request might be better served in the CAD/CAM forum: http://www.rcgroups.com/cad-cam-660/

Sounds like a real challenge!
