Bogstandard engine

Over the Chrismas break I have been looking at the Bogstandard engine as the building board (kitchen table has been put to other uses).
Has anybody ever tried the build using imperial kit? All my equipment is imperial and I don't think purchasing metric for the project is an option.

I was thinking about building the same engine. But I am having second thoughts due to the weight of the engine. I don't want to build a big heavy boat to accommodate this engine. I am looking for some plans for a V twin wobbler like Pattern maker made.

I just stumbled about this thread. The paddleduck engine is realy a good running engine.
Here is a little video of my homebuild version of the engine:
