Looks great Grey1! How do you get the trim on top the cowl? Is it monokote? Or trim tape?

The cowl was painted with a rattle can , and than trim tape was applied. The covering is bright yellow ultracote.

Status update on my loooooong project!

Man o man......only 5 more day before our club beauty contest and I am struggling to get my RV-4 ready. Gonna be close! Will only be ready for static display. Parts are primed and ready for painting, so just need a nice calm evening for colour application. Paint cowl, wheel pants and gear, finish cockpit, mount canopy, add pinstripes, final assembly....glue hinges if time permits.......ahhhhhhhhhhh!!! Now if I only did not need sleep and did not have to work...I would have time to finish the RV and build another kit in that time! LOL

Picks will come soon.

More RV progress

I may make the deadline after all. Painted wheel pants and gear and happy with results. Colour match is excellent! Pilot man is in position and being sealed in.

Here is the "canary" taking shape.

Lookin sharp!

At this rate I may end up tying you guys on a build that stretches into years. My lower fuselahe and left wing are done. Right wing is dry fit.....things are looking good....then. Wife says tile the downstairs. Including my build space. Now that is done but the great flying weather is here. Looks like rainy day progress until the fall.

Keep posting up those great pictures. Nice work!

Josh

Thanks Josh. Well disaster this morning. Painted the cowl with just enough paint. Looked ok, and thought I would clear coat.......MISTAKE! For some reason it went bad and I got nice little speckles all over the cowl. So, gotta sand it down a bit, run and get some paint and redo the cowl. Arrrr....frustrating.

Happy again! Second round of painting went well.

Here she is...finished at last. Well at least for static display. Still need to glue hinges and mount the rudder, elevator and throttle servos then ready for maiden. This was a fun build and am looking forward to flying it. Managed to get'r done for the club contest to show it off!
