Question
Carrerra SB-10 with ailerons

I tried another area and got no response. I was given a SB-10 3.2m glider. It looks like it has never been flown. Looking over the plans (written in German) and it does not look strong enough to with stand a winch. I am thing of covering it to electric. It has no electronic or balance wt. It looks like it would a fairly good performance for a scale glider.

Is it worth fixing up?

I also thought it might make a good to use with a tow plane since there is field an hour away were they fly tow plane gliders once a month.

Not much to contribute here, but I remember back in the Eighties you would see these from time to time. Surprisingly there were as many 5 meter SB10 planes as the smaller 3.2m. I never saw the 3.2 being winched, but strictly on the slopes.

Thanks Sailhigh. I never thought of slope flying with the SB-10.

I did, back in the 70s! It was a pain to land because it was rudder and elevator only

I decided to convert the SB-10 to electric. I have a motor that will be a little weak but fits the nose. It should be fun to fly. It looks like a heavy glider being made heavier by making it electric.
