That's a cool shot! I bet you had nice view of the shuttles from there. That's interesting. That thing went straight up. They usually start to bend down range at that height........or maybe you we perfectly inline with it so that you couldn't tell. Very cool!

Thanks! Yeah, I have seen quite a few shuttle and rocket launches from the front of my house. I only live 45 minutes from Kennedy Space Center. I have gone over for a few night launches and it's awesome.

It's funny you mention "straight up". I was thinking the same thing as I was watching it. Most of the time they curve off to the left (NE) as they are going up. I kind of wish this would have, as I think it would have added to the photo.

I watched one shuttle live launch, and one of the absolute coolest parts was watching it go higher, and higher, and higher, and higher... then suddenly it looked like it was coming down, as it curved up to enter orbit and began its fall over the horizon following the earth's curvature. I'll never forget that aspect of it.
