I would like to invite y'all to our annual East Coast HLG Festival 2004 that
will take place in Wilson, North Carolina on October 22-23-24. As always we
promise to have a great contest with some of the strongest competitors from the
East Coast and hopefully from other parts of the USA and maybe even Canada (Doug
Pike, I am sure you won't want to miss this one, right? :-)). A couple of very
good fellas from as far away as Seattle threatened to come this year (Adam,
Phil, don't let me down!) and they will prove us that those cool Encore planes
can also fly well on the East Coast, not only on the West Coast. We are hoping
that maybe even some of those spoiled California pilots may deliver on their
promise and finally come and fly with us also. I also have a small hope that our
national hero, his majesty Bruce D, will finally show up here and show us how to
fly HLG. Bruce, come on, you have been promising for 2 years already... :-)
I posted some initial information on http://olgol.com/contest - there is a map
and directions to the field and the registration form. There is also a link to
the 2003 contest web-page where you can read some very detailed reports and view
the pictures and remember the good old days.
Please, mark your calendars and send in your registration, you won't regret it!
I think Denny is out of retirement and flying HLG again, right Denny? So Bruce,
don't count on an easy 1st place this year...
