Taped a 1/2" flat washer to the tail of the fuse today and it flew much better. It simply did everything better than before. Should have my SFG's by the weekend. Need to find a better way to get the weight rearward. My Rocket 3020 motor has a bolt on prop adapter so it's much shorter than the stock one so I had to space the motor about 5/8" from the firewall for prop clearance. Evidently shoving the motor this far forward is hurting my balance.

We had a little snow here in CT this past weekend. So, I put skis on the VIsionaire and took her out for a spin:

Took me forever to get around to it. Finally decided I needed to switch to the toolless mod after I got too lazy to take the wings off after my last flight and probably took longer to figure out how to get it into my car than it would have to take the plane apart.

I really like that ^.

However, I am confused as to why there are two servo wires going into one wing. Lights?

I designed those. How are they performing?

LEDS!

Sorry, this is on the Night Visionaire. I'm pretty sure this is the same on the VA?

I just installed the screws and actually glued the harness into the fuse.

But I was plugging the cables directly into the wing and that seemed to work fine.

My Blobby,
Do you know if the harness adapter will fit the standard Visionaire?

The foam parts of both planes are the same. You will need to fill the gap on the fuselage side to make up for the missing connector for the lights. A piece of balsa will do the trick.

A tip for mounting the screws into the adapter. Heat the screw head and allow it to melt into the adapter. The plastic will flow into and around the head a bit. That will fix it in place nicely and have good grip.

Any pictures of different motors and how they have been mounted? My motor fell out in flight most likely from aprop strike on takeoff. Just unscrewed itself and chopped the wires.

After about a year when depth perception finally got the best of me and I slammed my visionaire into the top of an oak tree I changed mine out for an eflite power 10 with 12x6 apc prop with 5085mg servos. Fits the same mount. Just used some aluminum washers to move the motor forward a bit. Flew like a brand new plane after that!

I don't mean to interrupt anyone but I could use some help here. So I just got a visionaire and I flew it about a dozen times and after flying it for 30 seconds I realized that I hated the AS3X. I mean it's great on some airplanes but not one this one. So today I threw a new Reciever in it and flew it real quick. Right of the bat it felt
a whole lot more natural. However It has a little bit of an issue, my feeling is that it is very tail heavy and the AS3X had been covering it up. I am using a 2150mah 3s zippy compact and I moved it as far forward as possible (which isn't more than a 1/2 inch change) and it seemed a little better but it could still be nicer. Has anyone else removed the AS3X and had this issue? Is it in fact a CG problem? How much weight did it take to fix?

I would like some battery advise. I have one E-flite 3s 2200 30c. The rest are Turnigy or Nano Tech 3s 2200 25c. I can't tell any difference between the 30c and 25c. I want to add more batteries to my collection. I would like to stay close to the weight of the E-flite, but don't want to pay $30 each.

Am I missing performance running the 25c?
How high of a C rating can you run without risking damage to the system?
I am considering Venom Fly 3s 2200 30c or 50c. Does anyone have good or bad experience with Venom Fly?

Thanks in advance.

The best cheapest battery is the turnigy e flite series 2200 I have about 10 of them for over a year and they are great. Same size as the stock e flite 2200, great power, better than you would think (rated at 30-45c, but are better than my admiral pro 45c) and no puffing. They are $13 each, I highly recommend them. The admiral 2200 are slightly smaller and a tad lighter but don't have quite as much power.
