Yes, CG is at the servo wires.
Don't recall throws but it's pretty forgiving. Set up dual or triple rates
and you'll find something that works for you.

I see most people are propping them for around 120kph (75mph)
What happens when you prop them for even faster speeds?

It uses a lot more power. It's not a super slippery airframe.
If you need to go 75+mph, then better to use some type of flying wing.

Finished up the SH today; AUW is 97.5oz/2730g with 4s 6600 and FPV gear or 120oz with two flight packs. I am running a 12x6 APC on 840kv motor which is pulling 45A while holding the plane; does this sound like I am in the ballpark for this weight and long range flights? I have a 12x6.5 CF folding prop available if the 12x6 is too weak; I am having a tough time finding a 12x7 APC.

Ya, the weight is in the ballpark Mine is 76oz with everything but batteries.
Each 3S 5000 pack is about 13oz, and I normally fly with two.
12x6 should be fine for long range at low amps, but a little boring for sport flying.
APC doesn't make a 12x7, but others do and I think it's close to optimal for this platform.
APC does make a 13x7 folder, but I haven't tried it yet. I normally run a 12x8.5 folder,
which works up here in Colorado but but wouldn't recommend it near sea level.

I'll go with the 12x6 for the maiden and prop up to the CF 12x6.5 folder while looking for a 12x7. The 13x7 would be too much for this motor on launch; probably would be good for cruising though. This will probably be my long range bird and leave the sport flying to the Z2 and Z3.

What are you guys doing for quick removal/attachment of the tail booms? Do you really carry a screwdriver around with you whenever you want to fly?

Ya, I think most people have some kind of field box they take with them when flying most anything.

I carry a screwdriver, and more, but rarely remove the wing. Use screwdriver to
remove booms and tail, and leave wing attached to fuse. Depends on size of your
vehicle.

APC doesn't make a 12 x 7 APC electric. Here is the full APC electric list:
http://www.apcprop.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=24

Depending on the motor brand and size, the 12x6 should be pulling close to 2500g thrust (or more) and pitch speed should be near 55mph on 4S. At better than 100 watts/lb with one pack this is certainely enough to fly the plane. What kind of performance are you looking for?
