So I made some changes. New lighter tail fins. (old where 3.6 grams with adjustment screws new are 1 gram). I also moved the cooling system pickup tube to under the boat. With it in the back near the rudder it was causing a obstruction. She runs better now. And I can tell the rear of the boat sits higher.

I still think the rudder is in the way of the prop performing at its best. How has moving it over worked for those that have done it?

Final Mod Configuration

See my post #680.
Here's my final configuration. Custom solid brass shaft.
Battery is best fit, weight and best C rated power from HK.
Great upgraded performance!
Small cooling tube part aft of coupler is a shaft leak stopper. It is secure with tie strap.

So I was a complete idiot about a year ago and ran my boat in salt water. Over time everything corroded away, over the proccess of about 6 months. Now, I need to get replacements. I probably will just grab all new electronics. I was wondering if it would be worth it to grab a different motor and throw that in, in addition to getting the ft007 esc/rx combo circuit, and I will take a look but I might need a new servo too. I have I think three stock batteries for this boat, what would the run time and speed be with a different motor be.

After saltwater ops and severe corrosion, go for new motor, the ft007 esc/rx combo circuit, the servo, and new flex shaft.
I used the Venom Fireball Micro 370P. Inexpensive & excellent performance.
Not water cooled..I don't believe water cool is good investment in FT007. I use a cheap heat sink. You can fit it easy on the motor and in the motor mount. See my posts #680 and 694. Check the battery I use..it's a good one and has good run time.

However, when you look at price for all, strongly consider buying a whole new boat. Stay out of saltwater.

Hey all.
I have the double horse 7009 boat, which seems to be very similar to this boat.
I want to upgrade it to brushless. I'm not overly concerned with the price(yes I know it might be cheaper to just buy a better boat-I have the atomik barbwire-but I have a somewhat sentimental attachment to this boat lol). What is the best way to do this brushless upgrade?
