Announcing the first contest in the 2013 Blue Skies Series! Blue Skies Over Colorado for 2013 will be held at the beautiful Scienturfic Sod Farm in Commerce City, Colorado on June 23-24. That's the weekend after Father's Day, so you dads out there can ask for a house pass for that weekend as your gift!

This contest is being sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Soaring Association, RMSA. This event will be coordinated with F3J in the Rockies to foster some crossover between the two groups of pilots. We are hoping that the F3J pilots who are coming for Friday and Saturday will stay for the F3K contest. Conversely, we hope that the F3K pilots will come early and fly the F3J contest. In this way we hope to expose many more people to both styles of flying. You can save some airfare by making a long weekend out of it. We know a lot of pilots fly both styles of planes so this may be a chance to maximize your contest flying. The announcement of the F3J event is here

As usual, we'll have 2 full days of food and F3K fun under the beautiful blue summer skies of Colorado. We expect Gary Jensen to hold his annual spaghetti dinner on Saturday night so make sure you plan for that. More on that later.

Note that this will be an opportunity to get yourself qualified for the Team Select contest! The top 30% qualify for TS points.

Dry camping will be allowed on the field. There are many hotels in the area and I will post that information shortly.

Feel free to post your comments/questions/promises to attend here in this thread. When (not if) you decide to come, please post your name, AMA number RCG handle, frequencies and state here. Contest entry fee will be $40.00 payable at the field Sunday Morning. This covers two lunches, breakfast snacks and all the Gatorade and water you can drink.

We will use F3K Master to announce the contest tasks and will use F3KScore to set up the matrix and do the scoring. As in the past our own Kesley Jensen will be doing the scoring and providing updates. She will post round scores to RCGroups in this thread as the contest progresses. We look forward to hosting you! If you have an Android phone you may upload the F3K Master app and follow along with the contest announcements while on the field.

There is a F3J Contest Friday Saturday and F3K Sunday Monday.

that caught me off gaurd also, had to read the post again to see the deal.

I was hoping to make Colorado this year, but that is the weekend my son and I will be at Scout camp, hopefully next year.

Yes... the other guys too... the Utah Horde now numbers in the mid-teens... You have a bit over 11 weeks to orchestrate an invasion.
