Skywalker 2014

Hey guys, I just saw on http://bevrc.com that they have Skywalker 2014 for sale.

It seems to be the 2013 body with new wings.

Quoted from BEVRC.com

Quote:
The latest 2014 version of skywalker 1900.
Improved 1900 wings with bigger Dihedral angle for more stable flight, the same FX45 wingtype to maintain the long cruise time. Improved wings' setup angle to make sure a better climbing performance.
Flaps are pre-cutted for you. Another carbon pieace is added to strengthen the wing, no worried about the warping problem now.

Note how the wings are attached, they seem to be using a different method than using rubber bands.

Quoting BEVRC about the 1700mm wings
Quote:
Don't be fooled by it's wingspan, also it's only 1700mm, but the wing area is more or less the same as the new 1900 wings, when you use the same setup, the new 1700 wings will offer a longer curise time by 20% at least.

there are some conflicts

1. the new 1700 wings will offer a longer cruise time by 20% at least -> normal flight time for 1700: 30-50 mins but normal flight time for 1900: 30-60 mins

If you want to get stable video images and longer flight time, go with the 2014 skywalker 1900, if you want better aerobatics performance, go with the latest 2014 skywalker 1700.

Experts around here please correct. wanna buy one also.

Hi,

The version 6 isnt coming back i think. Unforunately.
I like the looks of the new version 2014 and think both wil be good fpv platforms.
Bevrc now says that the 1700mm wil give more flight time, then what is the purpose for making an 1900mm ?

I've send an email to bevrc asking the diffrence in fusulage between 2013 and 2014. Also asking wich fpv pod fits and if al the orange plastic clips can be buyed seperately.
If i get an answer i will post it.

I think they mean the 1700 is longer flight time than 1680? And 1900 is even more again? Maybe.....

yup, you are correct, the 1680 wing isn't coming back because they broke the 1680 wing mold and sales didn't justifying remaking the mold.
luckily i still have a few of the 1680 wings left.
the main reason why i liked the 1680 was its stability in flight. the polyhedral created a nice stability effect.
looks like the new 1700 wing has no diehdral and whilst the 1880 is a nice wing, its flatness doesn't give us much stability for video recording.
don't get me wrong, they are all stable and all great wings, but i just think the 1680 design was the best for my own personal taste.
anyway, really looking forward to seeing reviews of the 1700 !
has anyone ordered it yet?

You're absolutely not the only one thinking the 1680 was the best.
I would like to order a new 1700 now but then i also want to order the plastic clips extra and of course the fpv pod that fits the plane.

Hope to get an answer from bevrc soon !
P.s. sorry for the rubbish english.
Greetings,
Sander

yeah i'm tempted to order a 1700 myself, but i still have have 3 operational 1680's and a 2013 CT, so i think i'll wait until i crash a few! lol
one thing i cant seem to identify in the pics, is ... is the 1700 wing concave on the underside like the 1900 or is it flat like the 1880.
after the 1900 fiasco (i got 2 sets of warped wings), i'm very nervous about the concave under wing style.

I've got a reply of BEVRC.

The fusulage is the same as the 2013 model. So the fpv pod of the 2013 wil fit.
The plastic clips they do not sell seperately. Think i will order today !
