Looks like a good entry level for wood planes.

looks pretty awesome.

Looks like it needs another couple of pounds or so and 20 more inches of wingspan to be flown sport pattern with any amount of accuracy.

It's a beautiful plane though. Very old school sport pattern circa 70's 80's

I'm digging it and I just happen to have an E-flite 480 motor and 40Amp ESC available.

Power 10 and 4S. Zoom Zoom!

I agree though, would have been nice as a 40 size model. The P7 is just too many $$$ for me right now and this might have fit the bill.

I might try this plane.It needs more than a 480, I would put a .10 size in it on 3s . I like the trike gear,but wonder what kind of prop clearance you get.Hmm

Just checked,not an issue. Prop Size: APC 11x7e - 12x6e

I'll probably build it stock and then put a power 10 in it. I'm not a fan of the e-flite servos after seeing the issues folks are having with them in the Carbonz Yak so I'll probably go with something from Hitec instead.

I would say see what happens when John Reddman leaves the design department. But the way the rest of my day has gone, THIS would be the last one he left on the boards and I would have my foot knee deep in my mouth.

EDIT: After looking at the vid and specs again though I would have to say it looks like a nice solid airframe for the money. Looks like plenty of room for a 4s3200-4000 ma battery. Run a power 10 or 15 with the right prop and I see some fast flying with respectable flight times for a good price.
Running the numbers on the motor calc I use it shows me I would crash this one for sure. power 15 spinning a 9x8x2 APC on 4s3200 with a cc 45amp esc should draw 35.9 amp with a pitch speed of 93.6 mph 87.2 oz thrust and WOT run time of 5:20. That fast for that long, I could destroy this one on it's maiden

I saw the plane at Toledo this year and it looks nice. A little large for a 480 motor, but it would probably still fly fairly well on it. Is it a pattern plane? I do not think so. The tail moment is a little too short and the rudder does not extend below the elevator. I suspect that the plane would probably have a tendency to corkscrew while rolling if using any rudder. Is it a sport plane? Definitely, and it looks like a nice little one. With the bubble canopy and pilot in it it definitely looks like a vintage plane from the 70's.

I'm hoping there's one at SEFF next week as well. I'm trying to decide between this and several different 3DHS models for my next plane and right now it's a pretty tough choice.

There will be. I would not reccomend putting a Power 10 in it as it has fantastic power with the 480. Also, there will be a large jump in weight going from the reccomended setup to a larger battery. I can't fathom puttnig a 3200-4000mAh battery in it. Remember guys, this isn't a 3D airplane. It is a very nice, light flying airplane.

I got through the complete Masters pattern with it (and it looked good). It tracks very well.
