You can also check out outerzone for some balsa plans that could be converted to use with foam quite easily

Me and Jannie will either fly in formation... or opposing! Depends if i go for the SE5 or the DVII..

Talking about WW1 bi-planes...

The SE5 looks like to be least affected by the short-nose CG problems of this era birds... With DVII close behind.

DR-I must be a nightmare? or Camel for that matter?

Any thought from the bi-plane experts? (please!)

Regards
George

I can tell you, from experience, that it's much easier to look like you are flying combat than to look like you are flying in formation.
I've sometimes seen guys trying to fly in formation but they look like they are chasing each other all over the sky, so just go for fake combat and have some fun.

Hi
You know about fake combat. It becomes a reality show after a few flights.

I built an Eindecker with a very short nose in front of the LE of the wing. Don't know what size airplane you are building, but I packed almost every bit of electronics behind the firewall. Below is the link to the build thread I started for it. You might get some ideas off of it.

I built an Se5. Taught my grandson to fly it. It flys great as long as the control surfaces and servos stay put. (real squirrely when they are loose

Then he wanted a Thomas Morse Scout. (similar to a Spad) We completed it and flew it. After adding 1 oz to the nose, it fly's beautifully. But I hate adding weight to a plane to get it balanced, so I wont be building any more short coupled WW1 planes any time soon
