The "I'm still learning 3D" video throwdown thread

Just a place to share videos if you don't think your video is good enough to be in the other throwdown thread.

In addition to watching pros fly, I also enjoy watching mortals fly 3D planes...it gives me a better idea of how the plane will fly for me.

Tell you what. Less expensive planes are good for pushing the limits. Would you have flown like that on a $5000 plane? Maybe so, maybe not.

Nice flying!

Didn't forget...

First one is my Skywing 55" Yak 54. Nothing spectacular at all. Just getting it trimmed out. VERY fun plane and I'm looking forward to a bit cooler weather to go fly more. 103 is just too hot here...

This is a quick video I did of my own design Sbach 342. All Depron with a 45" wing span. VERY fun plane and flies better than I can. I need to get someone to really wring it out for me.

Next is one of my favorites! Twisted Hobbies Crack Bipe. I love this thing! I need to practice more and this is the perfect plane to do it with.

all these videos are worthy of the original video thread!... it was just to be a thread to post videos and chat without a vendor bias (because the video thread is about the only non-vendor thread happening). but anyways, do what you will
...and great flying guys!

Thanks theKM...I haven't watched the latest videos yet myself. Absence of vendor bias is nice. Hope to get a Beast 60e video before snow flies, and a WMPF video after it flies.

This thread can be complimentary to yours. Since I can't do long sustained rolling harriers in any direction I want, let alone tick tock rolling harriers, or even right rolling harriers, I figure I'm still learning. I did get one loop into a slip/landing once, and I was pretty proud, until I saw somebody else do it flawlessly. So I have something else to work on.

Hopefully we can have two threads without vendor bias now. I intend to watch every video, or if I run out of time, at least one per poster.

anyone who thinks that they are not still learning is either kidding themselves or wanting to hit a glass ceiling of their own making

I agree 100% I feel more comfortable posting videos in "not a 3D monster yet but trying" thread. I've been around and active in 3D since before we were winding our own brushless motors. I just haven't really pushed myself to learn the more advanced stuff yet. Career, little kids, etc. I'm just getting to the point where I can dedicate some time. I went to the 3DHS Fly Low fun fly here in May and swore to myself I would put the time in to learning rolling harriers and rolling circles by the end of summer. Well... school is back in and I didn't reach my goal...

Younger kids (I CAN'T believe I'm saying this) learn way faster than my 47 year old brain does.

Vendor bias is what it is... It's human nature. It's also market share. There will be a disproportionately larger number of videos showcasing a smaller number of manufacturers just due to the number of planes in the hands of modelers.

I for one hope this thread gets huge (we'll see) and that someday soon I can post a video here and say Woooo Hoooooo lookie I can finally do rolling harriers now, and everyone will say "Way to go TIM!" and not "Use more rudder" or "Looks like your behind the airplane".

Just my 2 cents... I'm rambling... I need to go work on my Beast 60e

Cheers!
