Hi everyone, I have built and successfully flow a 1/4 scale ASK-18 glider, scratch built from the Cliff Charlesworth plans!

I looked through your build thread, very nice! Welcome to RCGroups please post up some the photos here for others to see, they really are quite nice.

I like your motor addition and see the value in such applications, where flat field flying and no aerotowing exist, eventhough it might make the scale police purists cringe.

I'm building an earlier ASK-13 in 1.6 and 2.0 meter sizes, practice for larger sailplane builds as these are my first. Embarking on a 4 meter Scheibe-Bergfalke Mü 13 E by fellow UK chap Chris Williams, laser cut short kit by official US distributor of Chris Williams kits http://www.marcslasershop.com/store here in Vermont, New England USA.

Hi StudioRS ,thanks for the kind words. Yes the electric motor makes the aircraft more versatile as in being able to operate from a flat field by myself and you also have the option of adding power for a 'go around' if the approach is not correct.

The ASK-13 is a lovely glider, the classic trainer and the Scheibe-Bergfalke Mü 13 is a great choice

To edit your flag, go into edit mode and click "Go Advanced". You can then modify the flag. You do not need the moderator to do it for you.

I meant to also add, you are totally correct, for an indicated 9 lbs your ASK-18 looks to have wonderful wind penetration and flys light as a feather. I'm sure not fully intentional, however entertaining though, the ballooned landing is nice!

Flying at The Point first or go for the gusto on aerotow?
Of course, having the temperature above freezing would also be good.
