I actually clipped the tree just before I landed.

Here are a few pix of my FPV gear mounted up.

This is whats going on the frame. I got a 800mah 3s battery for the vRX. I didn't want to run the vRX off a 4s, and was thinking a separate battery would reduce interference. The keychain cam is a V2 cam that has video output, while also recording 720p onto a micro-SD card.


Camera is sitting on a chunk of memory foam. Foam is taped to the RX using double sided duct tape. The zip tie holding the camera, is ran through the center of the foam block. I am pretty impressed with the results so far.


I mounted my vRX and battery on the tail. I am not sure if the tail motors will cause interference with the video signal, but it looks good there if you ask me




I'll have to get some pictures of my ground station setup next time I set it all up.

Ok so I had to do something about all the wires needed to run this operation. My ground station is a mess... but at least now its an organized mess











I burned off another 4s today trying the FPV. I got some more video to edit, and a whole lot more practice to do.

The spec's on everything involved:
Dell XPS17 L702X Laptop - Sandybridge i7 & nVidia GT 550M
ION video2pc RCA to USB video adapter
FoxTechFPV 5.8ghz RC305 video receiver
FoxTechFPV 5.8ghz 200mw video transmitter

Software used:
Windows 7 64bit
vDUB v1.9.11 in video capture mode
Camtasia Recorder 8 for screen capturing.

I plan on going out on monday to a real park, and stretching out a bit now that I feel comfortable with the tests.

Man you have got to get this setup out in the open with less obstacles..I want you to test the range on these!!!!! and also ..try the CP antenna's they really boost the range as well as the performance of your FPV equipment...because as you can see there is always some static when there are throttle changes.....you need to stabilize the power you send to the FPV gear..also they interference due to shadowing and multipathing will be solved when you use CP...

Since he has a FPV battery the interference from the throttle changes have to be coming from the ESC noise.

Yup. My vTX is mounted almost directly over the two ESC's for the tail motors.

I dont have money for CP antenna's. But I am packing everything up right now as I type to go fly with Snipeworm at a real park. This should be interesting.

Stay tuned for either some real good footage, or some pictures of a mangled V-Tail copter.....

you dont need to actually but new CP antenna's.... you can make them yourselves.... the quality will always differ from something you buy off the shelf but still it will be tons better than the dipole antenna....In fact I use CP antenna's even on my RC Tx and Rx for better glitch free rc link....

You can also just shield your vTX signal from the camera to the Tx. canabalize some shielded cat6, USB, or firewire cable.

Cat6 is in the plans. I think im going to move all the FPV stuff to a different frame.

I took the setup to the park today. The wind was making it very difficult to fly. And FPV is still pretty difficult, as I do not have an idea of where I am, or any clue of altitude. Also I have some pretty insane vibrations right now, and my camera mount is near useless. The vibration was so bad all the video is useless as well.
