Once you add in the clutch bell, they take up the majority of the width of a 18" wide 1/4th scale car. Would have to be a big bike. They are also used in gopeds and pocketbikes.

BTW if you are gonna go with a g230rc make sure you get a red cap instead of the black cap, the red cap has a bit more hp and about 1000 extra rpm.

I highly doubt it would fit from the looks of it!
And even if you manage to get it into the bike (probably on or around the bike ) the centre of gravity will be so offset that it wouldn't run...
Why would you want a 22.5CC engine in a bike if a .21 wheelies at will and even further.

Btw: Yay, another Belgian into bikes!
I guess you're new here, or took a long pauze (haven't seen you around on these forums yet).
If you want, feel free to pm me and I'll help you out a bit in dutch.

Maybe the fellow that was posting about drag bikes a while back should take a look at one of those. If he could stuff it into the frame, he'd at least have a chance to control his bike because of the long chassis.

It is about a 5lb motor that makes around 5hp probably 7"X6"X8" without a clutch bell or the lower spacer to mount it flat. Not worth it for a bike unless it is really big.

A lot bigger bike than 1/5 as we use that engine in our 1/5 cars.

How about 50cc. I'm still fiddling with a pocket bike project from time to time. I'll probably finnish it over winter as right now I'm focused on making CF tt frames. more later....

I have to cut and strech the frame to "correct the steering geometry and machine up some backwards tripples.

Speed-e I use the same type engine he has pictured in my 1/4th oval car. I would have figured you would use a Solo engine for the extra HP. 1/4th they have specific engines that are usable, not just size

The 1/5 cars have not used Solo engines by preference since late 2001 when the more powerful first generation Zenoah G230 RC engines became commonly available. In 2004, when the second generation 230RC was released, Solo stopped making their r/c engine.

I hear the 1/4 oval rules are very restrictive on engines etc. And that a lot of the participants like those limits.

Hmm I thought the Solo engines were turning out about 7hp, shows how little I know about 1/5th, which the car I had was from about 1998. The gocart track I was going to run at closed, so I sold it off.

Yeah QSAC is very restrictive on the engines, no engine mods, specific carb and stock exhaust are all required. Pretty much has to be a g2d70, or a g230rc. Makes the playing field pretty level with out being horribly expensive. The bigger issue for 1/4th is getting better tires.

indeed, they don't make the solo engine anymore. It was a good engine, but hard to let him run perfect.

After the solo there is the G2D. And sinds a fun years you have the RC engines
First the G230RC1 and the G260RC1, the newest one is the G230RC4 and the G260RC4

You can also get him in 27cc and 29cc version. But these aren't allowed at official races.
