Thanks,

If you were to put all that work(and money) into an airplane, wouldn't you want a plane that is more current? Just a thought.

In your opinion what makes a good VPP plane?(I have no vpp experience, so I wouldn't know)

What's the airframe weight of your MX-3s?

Thanks,

Free, it doesn't matter how current it is if its still the best

To build one of our new models it takes about 50-60 hours not really something most foamy pilots want to do I know I wouldn't

I can totally vouch for what Devin is saying! I have built an MX two and it was a very fast build! Right now I'm in the process of building a arrow V6 that is up to today's competition standards, And it's easily a 40 hour project, And not for a average foamy pilot..

The MX2 is a fairly fast build but if you're looking for an entry-level Depron plane? Great Planes Extra and Edge come 60% fabricated, Fly great, and make for a superfast build! I actually keep a GP extra just for that reason.

Our mx2 is still flying great. I'm amazed it has held up to three cell flying!

Mamo question on 3s

Was wondering what people are using for 3s with the Mamo?

Running a20 34s and castle phoenix 10

Have 3 size 3s to choose from

3s 180mah 25-40c nanotech 19grams
3s 250mah 25c TP packs 23grams
3s 325mah 45c TP packs 35grams

My flying weight is 178 grams

Going to replace 3 3114s with Dymond D47s, should save 9.3grams, a little lighter on the carbon, should save a few grams as well.

At the moment I'm only getting maybe 2 minutes of flight time, can't pulse the throttle without falling out, pretty much full on to get inverted. It'll push but not much after a minute or so.

ANy help would be great.

Already played around with pitch etc. model is just too heavy at the moment.

3s 65 or 70c 325mah TP's. Im flying 110% SBModels Slick at 175grams for 3mins of lots of TVVPP mixed in. With real good power until 2.5 min then I can feel it sag a bit. Some key things

Balance the entire assembly.
Stiff motor mounting
Good pitch and throttle curves

For a FF MX-2 I would go with the 250mah TP to save some weight. Especially if you are going to convert to 4.7s. Even if your plane has a lot power, if your servos can't push the control surfaces, it is not fun.

Have fun!! Post pictures!!

Thanks for the help guys.

Might go axi, milled and d47s, should be sub 150grams...which should be perfect
but I have this a20 34s so I'll hook up something 3s here pretty quick.

Honestly it's a scratch build but this seemed like the only place with any VPP info, didn't want to hijack the thread.
Broke down the airframe today sadly, after the collision with the crack pitts is just wasn't the same really, .5mm carbon broke and wing was a bit off so I took what carbon I could for scrap.

We are working on finalizing the instructions so the first sets will have MX2 instructions included.
There will also be a build thread.
