That is way cool. Or maybe you could put one of your cool jets in the way back machine and we could act like it is 1955 and the 36 was flying formation with a jet.

Thanks, DAG

It really was a pleasure to meet you Damon!

Ps And the B36, in person, is awesome. Photos do not do it justice.
Thanks Don,

Can't wait until next year, so many great people, and so many cool planes.

Be safe, Damon

Ok,

Now that I am a bit caught with work now, a recap of SEFF for me.

Tuesday:
Left at 4:20am, pulled in at 5:05pm.
My buddy Birger and new brother Dean was waiting at a cool spot picked for my B-36 and we all set up my tent. I was tired but got the Emmaselle out and set up.

Wednesday:
Windy (10 gusting to 20)
4 flights on the Emmaselle
Saw 3 mid-air crashes

Thursday:
Windy (15 gust to 25)
4 flights on the Emmaselle
Set the B36 up in my tent
Saw 2 mid-airs

Friday
No wind 5-10mph, then 5, then calm after 4-5
6 flights on the Emmaselle
Saw 3 mid-airs

Saturday:
no wind early, then 5-10 until 1pm, then just a bit more.
2 Flights on the Emmaselle
Set the B36 up out in the open, looked very cool.
Saw the most incredible mid-air ever by two 3D planes going head on lik the blue angles.
Started packing up after the noon demos, then had the BBQ dinner, then was on the road by 6pm.

Over all 110% prefect trip. The only thing I broke which really tweaked my tweeter was some how I got one of my lipos balance tap plugged in upside down and fried the balance plug. It is on my 5S Thunderpower. I wonder if I need to send it in, or if I can just buy the plug and parts.

Rock ON!

Why all the midairs? That many aircraft in the air at one time, no one spotting, bad control (at the event) or what?

Does sound/look (from what I saw on videos) like a great event.

There were cones (red) the separated the sport area from the park zone types. Most the time it was the sport guys flying into the PZ area, but twice I saw the PZ guys in the sport area. I sat at the cones and saw many pilots not able to fly in their area.

Don't get me wrong, great event, and not all mid-airs end in a crash that destroyed the planes, many times a fighter might hit a foam plane and the foam plane crashed to fly again. I did see a fighter fly through a glider, that was a bad day for the glider.

Rock ON!

Great photos and videos, thanks for sharing them.

I started off confused by several of the stills at the start of the Emmaselle video in that the plane was heavily banked one way but the ailerons were clearly set for the opposite roll direction. It was only when I saw the moving images that the graceful slow motion reactions of the plane made sense of those stills. There is a lot of inertia and it takes time for the torque from the ailerons to take affect. Fascinating to watch

Emaselle video from SEFF

OK, Here's a quick, no-frills edit of some of the footage from the Emaselle at SEFF.

Emaselle at SEFF 2012 (6 min 16 sec)

Dag, Great chatting with you and flying next to you with my Cub at SEFF, enjoyed seeing your Project and the Emaselle, looking forward to next year or to E-week at Joe Nall if you make down here for that.

Those are some GREAT pics! Real quick for DAG: Were you at the RC airshow at the Air Force Museum in Dayton last August? (2011) My mom and I went on a trip to the museum, and we happened to notice the RC show was going on. I ask because that Emaselle looks VERY familiar... Saw it going around the pattern and I thought it was really neat. Was just curious if that was indeed you I saw flying.

Yep, That was my Emmaselle. Was a very hot couple of days, but a good turn out.

Thanks, Dag

I have already had about 20 people start asking about e-week. I don't do Nall, nothing against it, but just to big for me, I would get lost.
