X1 MF or EZ Peak Plus Need help deciding on charger...

I'm trying to decide on which charger to get. I want something fairly cheap so less than $80. Both of these chargers are right at that price point. Right now I only have 1 3S 2200mah LiPo battery, but later on I will eventually get a 6S for a plane.

Any recommendations between the 2? Or anything better these around the same price or less?

If you will be getting into 6s later both chargers are woefully inadequate.

Give these articles a read to find out why:

Also give some thought to if you will want to do parallel charging eventually.

Good read! Thanks!

Would you stay away from HobbyKing Chargers? They have this one https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...e_Charger.html ?

The most recommend chargers are iCharger and Revolectrix (aka FMA Direct). Both are very high quality. Also both can be bought from US vendors rather then doing expensive international shipping from HobbyKing. The two most common vendors are ProgressiveRC and BuddyRC.

If you want an inexpensive small starter charger for now, which you will still find uses for later, then the Accucel-6 is good:

And if you need something to power it one of these:

Both items are in the USA warehouse so shipping should not be too bad.

Some people would argue that staying away from Hobby King entirely is a good thing.

Hobby King does not stock that charger in their USA warehouse so you would be paying for shipping from China. You can get the same charger from a USA based vendor (free two day shipping to Roseville) for about the same total price as from HK.

I'm not endorsing that particular charger. I have no personal experience with it. If you end up staying with the hobby long term then investing now in a capable charger will pay off fairly quickly. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Rather than the iCharger 1010b (10S at 10 amps) I would be looking at the iCharger 206B (6S at 20 amps) at about the same price. I doubt that you will need a 10S charger.

If you can possibly conceive of needing to charge more than one or two 6S batteries then I would consider the FMA PowerLab6 (PL6, 6S at 40 amps).
