Dr1

hey folks ,im kitting up a kit for the dr1. itll come to ya in the mail with all foam lasercut peices, vacuum formed machine guns.and cowling, and a rotory engine. the dr1 is 1/12 scale{23.5"} electric. it'll come also with a parts list, build instructions and actual plans.hardware is also included. ive sold the kit to rcg for the last few years, pre built but it got to costly for shipping, thats why the kit got involved. the build takes about 4 hrs to finish. my question is this.... are you interesed?

flyd7 is a old friend, stayed with my family for a while. He's been in the prototype and r&d phase of this kit for at least 5 years. We built several of his dr1s together, brainstorming, and problem solving. it is an amazing flyer and now available as a lazer cut kit. He has made this kit friendly to build and trim out. Dr-1 is a fun flyer and very pretty. Every body that has ever had one loved it. fine parky.

Go to flyd7's blog and find more pics of the Dr-1 and also his upcoming D7

Flyd7 is a Genius with these Dr.1s, they are Simple to make, you can customize them on the outside, and will accept many power systems. I had a Dr.1 made by him with a 750 mah 2s it would fly for 20 minutes! One of the best features of his planes are that they can have low rates and you can fly around the sky as an easy flying plane the plane was my 2 plane, and 1st plane I had control over( being the first was a foamy trainer that has been in the hands of new pilots too many times I try to turn left but it would do what it felt like) then flip on high rates (WAY high) you can do a roll with just rudder, and was stupendously maneuverable for a 3 channel plane (4 for that matter), for that I would suggest for reinforcement for safety, but I think 6mm depron will be used instead of 3mm. It would wow the guys at ROTC and Boy Scouts, it made me look like a pro. It is well designed and flies awesome. I intend on Volunteering for a build log and a review

I've always shied away from the Dr1 due to the models I've read about inheriting the real deals' flight quirks. Not to mention the inherent difficulty of getting 3 wings on square.

But here we have one that looks good, reported to be an easy build and to fly well - responsive w/out weirdness, hmmmmm.

If kits are available, please provide details for purchase. If you'd rather do it by PM, please advise so.

This is a very easy plane to build and fly. You can turn the rates down on your radio and the plane flys like a trainer. If you want to see an early build of this plane go to my blog
(donfl3344). If you ever wanted a DR-1 but thought it would be too hard to build and fly then you are in for a treat.

Checked the pics in your blog. Side view showed an attribute I was unaware of, under cambered wings. Me likee.

The hardest part of flying a DR.1 is keeping it from nosing over on landings. Otherwise, they are quite fun and pleasing to fly.
