Yak 55 Replacement

How about an updated ( epo foam) replacement for the beloved but discontinued Yak 55. I still have one original kit left that I'm using as a pattern to build my own Yaks from dollar store foam.

Funny you should mention it. That's actually on my project list to do. We still have one kit here we can use as a template as well. Not sure on a timeline, but it is in the works.

How cool is that? It would be nice if it could be ready by this winter for the indoor flyers. Gymnasiums are the only place to fly in New York in January and February. I used to fly year round, but I'm getting too old and feeble for that.

We might be able to hit this indoor season, but we'll have to find a suitable vendor first. Got any suggestions?

I don't really have any suggestions for a vendor. What happened to your vendor for the original Yak?

I loved the control rods and hardware kits that came with the original. I would like to be able to purchase that stuff for my other planes and scratchbuilts.

We're still working on it. The original factory is shut down, or we would still have the kits here.

I wondered why you discontinued them. They were a great little kit and had a good price.

Hi Flyboone,
Are we getting any closer to a re-release of the beloved Yak 55?
